Glass bed setup

Hi

I am going to print some nylon (PA6), and want to try a glass bed for this, as I read it is a good option for Nylon, using glue stick. Normal window glass that I cut myself.

Can I just replace the PEI sheet in my H2D with a glass plate, re-level, and start printing? Or do I need to do something special to make it work?

I will of course fix the glass plate to the heatbed and compensate for temperature.

I would not dare to use plain window glass, I always used rather strong glass - like the sheet from an old scanner.
Had the standard window glass crack on me too often.

I have used window glass with my Ultimaker printers since long without any issues, so I have no worries from that perspective.

Be careful with bed scanning. Mostly optical. Glass reflection might mislead sensors.
Would want to crash my nozzles into the glass plate due to that.

I used to use the 12x12 mirrors from home depot. They came in a pack and were cheap. But that was on a printer with a plastic BL touch sensor for bed leveling. It didnt ram the metal nozzle into the glass for bed leveling. So i have no idea how well this would work
