Grafic printed on layer before

Hi!
I want to print a part with a graphic in a different color. For some reason, the pattern that should appear on the next layer is already being printed on the layer before (layer 31). Is there a way to make this layer smooth?

The “artifacts” are possibly a Studio bug (see Solid layers not recognized as such when printing text (especially prone when printing keytags & labels) · Issue #2906 · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub & Fix multi-material top-surface artifacts (#2906) by geomad · Pull Request #10082 · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub).

It’s hard to be sure w/out having the project file to test with, as I mentioned in your other thread.

If this is a model you’re designing yourself in CAD, you have several other options to separate the colors into separate bodies and apply color that way, which will also give you more flexibility in other areas (like avoiding the artifact issue).

Thanks! I split the object into multiple parts. I set it to print in different colors, but unfortunately the result is the same. I’ll check the suggestions you mentioned. Thanks again for your help :slightly_smiling_face:

Ah if you have that top image as a separate part already, and it’s not embedded into the base at all, you could try to enable Strength → Top/bottom shells → Interface Shells (I think this requires “Advanced” mode to be enabled, or perhaps even “Develop” mode in settings).

Also if you can avoid painting anything (apply filament number directly to parts) the result should be a lot nicer overall. If you go this route then make sure to clear out all existing painting first, as that can mess with (override in strange ways) the filament selections.

Thanks! The problem is solved. It was enough to set Top paint penetration layers to the number of layers I wanted in color and disable Interface shells (in the Strength tab).

Thanks again!
