**Grainy at the top of this print no matter how I turn it its the last layer’s that always look like this…
Yes, try variable layer height
Thanks but I have tried this.
The layer heights need to be thinner on the top surfaces. That’s what the variable layer height does. You do have to adjust it using the tool on the right-hand side.
Or just ironing could help - I printed a stem in laying position, it had the same effect as in the picture. As a newbie, I didn’t know other ways to do but tried to turn the ironing option on, I got a pretty satisfactory result.
Did you watch the video?
Which one? I’m quite a newbie in 3D printing, sorry for not knowing many things, probably they are very well known in this community.
The video that @lkraus linked in the first reply to your post. It explains in detail what is happening.
Sorry, I replied in a wrong post - I thought you were referring to my post, not this one… Stupid me…
Yes but cant get rid of it for the most part. Adding fuzzy skin helps but would rather not do that
I think if I play with the edge in Meshmixer and make it sharper that may help.
Try concentric top surface. It might be even better in combination with variable layer height
If concentric is not good, try Archimedean chords
