I’ve been involved with 3d printing since about 2010 when I built a Makerbot CNC Cupcake Machine then moved on to building out Mendels etc.

Several years ago I got tired of tinkering and purchased an X1C, loved it so much I bought 2 more X1C’s and two P1’s. All 5 of those printers have over 5000 hours on them individually with normal routine maintenance being performed.

Ended up purchasing a H2D and a H2S as I wanted the larger build volume and I’m really disappointed in them. When the H2D works it’s great. When it doesn’t it sucks.

The H2D has 604 hours on it and in the first 40-50 hours I had to disassemble the toolhead/extruder twice.

The H2S has 3 hours on it and I’m about to disassemble the toolhead/extruder for the second time. I’ve only been able to get 2 benchy’s out of it as any multicolor print out of it fails miserably.

If this second disassembly doesn’t fix the issue I’m going to take the H2S out to the back 40, douse it in gasoline and set it afire while streaming to youtube.

Are they all this bad?

In my experience there are some design flaws. The biggest tip i can give if you want hardcore reliability is don’t run HF nozzles. Ptfe shedding and filament shedding collects in the h2d extruder assembly like crazy. The nibs to guide the filament in there also wear out. I think this causes issues with the hf nozzles as i have had those nozzles clog out, then found that debris in the nozzles. After clearing the clogs the nozzles clog way more often and i tend to toss them.

I really just wish they’d have taken the X1C design and scaled it up…

Overall it’s an improvement over the x1. I have an x1c as well. Reliability wise though unfortunately it is worse.

The vision encoder and chamber heater have added a lot of value for me personally. The h2 series will run laps around an x1/p1 printing any material above pla/petg if we are assuming stock printers.

If it were me, I wouldn’t have disassembled anything within the first 40-50 hours and definitely not within 3 hours. They likely would have been still in the two-week window when I could have requested a replacement printer.

sure I’d agree with that, otoh, I’ve had the H2S sitting on my workshop floor for 2 months or so still in the box…

To apply a bit of counterweight;
My H2S has 500 hours now, and my only issues have been with huge multicolor prints (purge clogging). After upping the sensititvity of the purge problem sensing to high, i have lost 0 prints. I’ve mostly worked with PLA, PETG and ABS, but also PA6-CF with very good results.

I do see some accumulation around the nozzle which i think is unavoidable, but the pre-print nozzle cleaning works well so i dont see any quality deteriation on the prints. With some preventive maintenance (nozzle cleaning and cold pulls) it has worked flawlessly, and i’m very happy with it!
A whole new world after having Klipper CR10s. :slight_smile:

I have 950 hours on my H2S since 8.October, the only problem i had was a squeak on a belt, i “tuned” it and its gone since about 600 hours.

My H2D works really well but the quality of their parts is not near what you might expect from a printer in that class. I have replaced most parts on my toolhead including hotend cooling fan, TH board, eddysensors, heating assemblies etc and now its time to change even more :wink:

It really doesn’t matter how gentle you are with self-tapping screws—sooner or later, they will inevitably strip the threads. Once that happens, you’ll find yourself switching out the entire X assembly, which also requires dismantling the whole printer once again. (Ah, the joys of modular design!)

The printer does work, I’ll give it that. However, it’s so remarkably sensitive to high-heat printing that it borders on… let’s call it “character-building.” Think of it as the printer’s way of keeping you on your toes.

It’s probably similar to Amazon: the most representative product reviews are often the negative ones, even though they seem to be in the minority. But that doesn’t really affect you pioneers. Your experience and skills go back to a time when 3D printers were practically steam-powered. You just take the machines apart and fix them – done.
I can’t do that, and I don’t want to.

When I had to buy a new car some time ago because the model wasn’t available used yet, I deliberately avoided the first production run. I had no interest in acting as a beta tester and investing time and nerves in an immature vehicle.
Unfortunately, this strategy doesn’t work with Bambu Lab. They will most likely not do a model refresh and release an improved version of the H2D or H2S this year, but instead throw something completely new onto the market. Not great.

I only want that every one here know the truth about the quality Isue of that Company!!

Ok i will open an new Thread then that every one could place hith issues with H2 Series in row with in his Garantie time.

I realy want to know how many and what kind of mechanical parts will fail soon so i can rework it by my own and don’t like to search in the whole Froum for that!

That would also help Bambu Lab to see the Problem esely or not???

Also don’t like to put the same Part again in that Printer that fail soon afterwards or after Garantie!

Are they all this bad?

Yes. You ran with the luck of buying first batch printers. All first batch printers have its issues. You can request tech support, or even a refund if you want to, but all machines will give you the same experience.

My machine (H2S) is demonstrably proves this false. Generalize much?
Arrived 1st week of december, 560 hrs, no issues.

Ive been printing with my H2D almost non-stop since getting it delivered July 2025. I havent checked my hours in awhile, and Im traveling for work so I cant check the printer right now. But last I checked I was well over 600 hours.

I printed the Benchy first…of course. But since Ive bee n 3D printing DeadPool Masks (many friends love this one), IronMan Masks and IronMan body armor, functional things for around the house, statues, busts, figures, and some of my own designs.

The only failures Ive had, were the following:

Left cutter getting stuck on the extruder head. This happened like 7 times in a row, but then resolved itself and hasnt come back since.

Had 3 spahgetti failures (my fault)

Two rather large and lengthy prints I had fail when a support broke, same support, same layer. Re-oriented and it was fine on third attempt.

Piece of broken filament in the tube from AMS 2 Pro to H2D. Easy to resolve.

The biggest issue I have daily, is it not detecting the Bambu spools properly, showing innacrurate color. I have to sometimes tell the printer to re-read, and then it is fine.

Overall. BEST printer I’ve ever owned, and Im lkkely going to buy another H2D this coming Spring 2026, maybe 2 more. I wanted to buy the H2C, but my dad taught me long ago, never buy the first edition of angthing new, lol. The vortex nozzle system is the new part that I’ll wait to see how that performs overall through other owners postings. Maybe I’ll buy the next vortex nozzle capable printer they release.

Print failures are bound to happen, but it sounds like maybe you got a bad one? Its a mechanical machine, much like a car, they dont all roll off the assembly line the same.

You need to stop generalizing. I’m not alone, there are plenty who have machines working as intended.

If the A1 is/was a failure and poorly designed then you better get cracking on informing the millions of users who have one. So weird that such a badly designed machine would sell so well isn’t it?

I think a few boards burned isn’t a good thing. I’ll hold any condemnation until I know everything. Well, as much as possible.

After two years with two P1S printers, my H2C joined the family in mid-December. From unboxing to the first print, it was an absolute pleasure. By now, around 100 hours of printing have been completed, and unfortunately I can only report positive things — probably not what people want to hear here.

I don’t print dust collectors; I print exclusively functional parts and prototypes. One clear improvement over the P1S printers is ABS parts. Most likely due to the heated build chamber, the parts come out of the printer warp-free and truly robust. Print quality is exceptionally clean across the entire speed range, whereas the P1S tends to show belt patterns at certain speeds that you have to avoid. I use the dual extrusion for text in the 1st layer and support interface - absolutely flawless. And I switch nozzle sizes a lot! Waiting for the big update to use different sizes in one job!

I ordered an engineering plate that came with an surface error - some kind of bubble in the coating. BL immediately sent a new one after I have sent them a pic. From opening a ticket to delivery maybe 5 days in Christmas season. I didn’t expect this!
