H2C Firmware V01.01.05.00

I received the OTA firmware H2C Firmware V01.01.05 Beta but cannot find any description of it. What has been changed in this version?

V01.01.05.00 is not a Beta firmware - it’s the final release.

The changelog is available in the printer’s menu:

Feature Optimizations

  1. Improved Nozzle Presence Detection logic.
  2. Optimized the Nozzle Offset Calibration algorithm to reducefalse alarms caused by filament clumping on the nozzle that could interfere with the calibration process.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed an intermittent failure in 0.2 mm nozzle offset calibratioon.
  2. Resolved an intermittent mechanical interference issue between the Hotend Latch Actuator and the Hotend Latch during nozzle switch.
  3. Resolved a rare corner-case issue that could lead to print failure. This update further enhances overall system dependability and stability.

Hi.

My printer started the day with upgrading to this firmware, and according to the printer’s menus this is now installed successfully.

Bambu studio bracket (W11) no longer prints because my ā€˜current firmware version cannot start this job please update to the latest version’. The ā€˜upgrade’ link (should that say ā€˜update’?) next to the error message says that updating was successful and that I have the latest version!

I believe I also have the latest version of studio… The bambu studio information dialogue box rather unhelpfully tells me that it is the ā€˜newest’ (ā€˜latest’) version without actually telling me what that version is! The launch splash screen reports 2.5.0.66

Any suggestions as to how to progress?

In case it is of relevance, I am trying to slice a single material model using TPU for AMS.

You can find the latest Studio releases along with the change logs here:

1st, you can downgrade the printers software using Bambu Handy on your phone or tablet.
On the printer screen click the menu button and you will see firmware version at the bottom. Click it and you should see the option to revert.
If your problem is solved by reverting then you know the firmware was the issue. From there you can either try it again, ignore it and put in a bug report, or just ignore it completely.

I used TPU for AMS last night and I have the new update along with the stable version of Studio. Didn’t notice anything on mine. Try reverting then updating again.

The latest update had a few quality of life fixes along with 2 errors.

I noticed that in the beta version of the H2D printer, the Birdseye camera can now be used without the laser kit.
Are there any updates on when this feature will also be available for the H2C?

If you ever want to see the change log for an update Use Studio/devices/update and you’ll see the change log link.

It should be available in all H series printers.

Thank you for this… I avoid the handy app because a phone screen is simply too small. It had never occurred to me that there might be functionality on a mobile device that is not in a fully fledged desktop app.

I restored the firmware to 1.01.00.00 using the handy app, re-started the printer to be sure, restarted studio, sliced and printed the plate … Except Bang! The ā€˜current firmware version cannot start this print job please upgrade!’ The printer no longer works under the old firmware or the new firmware.

I have been able to print using PETG… It does seem to be something to do with TPU for AMS.

Not sure where to go now, having tried both versions of the firmware on my H2C.

I think the best thing to do is put a ticket in. If you’ve done everything and still have the same result then it’s a bug and needs to be reported. If you do that, keep us updated. I would doubt you’re the only one.

After installing the update, the printer is printing mid-air in bottom right corner. I will have another go after another calibration, but it’s a bit disappointing

This is not true. It is only available in a beta H2D firmware so it technically isn’t available for any printer yet on a release firmware. I would also like to know when we are getting this as I have purchased the Birds Eye camera.

I think he meant it will shortly be available on all H series printers. The thing is as of now if you install the BE camera, you can but don’t connect it to the AP board otherwise you will not be able to use the cutter at all…

Seriously, what are you talking about? You purchased the camera knowing it wasn’t supported yet (yes it has a Q1 26 estimate). I have one too, not too worried as I knew when I purchased it I’d have to wait.

I never said it was out for the whole H series. It will be out for all when the beta drops for each or a stable release is dropped. If you don’t understand what I’m saying simply ask. That ā€œWrongā€ **** is getting old.

I may be misunderstanding, but you can connect it and use the cutter. You just get an error or message telling you it needs to calibrate the BE. You can just close those out and it will still cut.

Calm down. The guy asked when it will be available and your response was ā€œIt should be available.ā€ We understand it should, we would just like an updated timeline because we are already past their first one, which was December. Yes, I bought the camera before the update is out. I know the risks from that move and I am not upset I bought it, I would just like to know when they plan to release this.

Support has said probably end of month. Follow the HD beta thread for info. Given the bugs they’ve been reporting it will be a bit. No ones worked up btw.

I understood his question as ā€œwill it be on the H2Cā€ as if only the D would have it.
Don’t believe that’s anything to question but here we are. Instead of jumping on it maybe ask me what I meant next time.

The only update has been towards the end of the month and that’s not even nailed down. I’d like to have the update just to take a load off my Power Bank when starting up.

Without the BE camera installed or not connected my H2C cutter is fine, I can just close the BE calibration message but with the BE camera connected to the AP board, it insists I need to calibrate it before going further and this can’t be done without the laser (or the next firmware upgrade…). I just disconnected it and everything is fine.

I had not heard the end of the month estimate, that would be nice but man is it delayed versus the original promise. I would like to know why it is so difficult to add this because without knowing the intricacies it doesn’t seem like it should be too difficult.

I’ll jump in the H2D thread and check out what they’ve been dealing with.

Thanks for your answer as it made me wonder, have I overlooked something?

I reconnected my BE camera and tried. When it’s disconnected, upon installation of the cutting module, it goes straight to cutting module calibration but with the camera it goes to camera calibration and I thought it was required before I can be presented with the cutting calibration again…

I’m happy to report that’s not the case :wink:

I just had to go back to the menu screen, tap calibration, select cutting module calibration and it does it. I can then use the cutting module not worrying about the initial BE camera calibration request or the error in messages asking for that calibration.

Happy to help. It is a pain how that works and to be honest I hate that error. Hopefully soon.

I went back and forth with Support on this issue for a couple weeks, before they sent me an early beta firmware update to address it. Basically the little pin that pops up to grab the hotend latch actuator arm wasn’t extending high enough, and the actuator arm would slip past it, when it was supposed to hit it and stop. This would cause it to catch, when the extruder tried to move away, causing it to jam and throw an error.

The firmware update helped but only just barely enough. My other H2C right next to it works fine with the actuator post extending a few mm higher, even on the same firmware. I ended up printing a tiny cap out of TPU to put on the end of the post on the Vortek frame that contacts the actuator pin to push it up. It works fine, now. If anyone else needs to do this, just note that the adjustment is logarithmic. Adding 1mm to the length of the post on the Vortek frame translates to an increase in extension of at least 3mm.

I’ve had the same issue but just had to recalibrate the rack to fix it
