H2C is the best Bambu printer I’ve owned

Speaking of older printers, does anyone know why the X1 Carbon was removed from the market? Which current printer replaced it? The P2S?

It was their flagship, presumably the H2C is their flagship now, the H2S before that

Practically the P2S is essentially what an X2 might have looked like and is probably the closest we’ll get to an “X2”

The X line is probably dead at this point, I can’t see where it fits in the current line up

I have a H2D so won’t be getting one of those but I can see why it suits you looking at that print!

I’m sort of in the same boat, but then: think about how much poop you need to produce to actually save that much for justifying the additional price for the nozzle changer… If you’re the type of person who prints multicolor figurines all day long, then sure, go for it. But I found my peace on this thinking that I won’t be able to produce 900€ (for the upgrade kit) of poop in my lifetime, let alone in the H2D lifetime. Most of the times for me the 2 nozzles are enough (to mix TPU and others, or support interface material etc) and when I print multicolor parts, the AMS will still be able to produce anything the H2C can, just somewhat slower and producing some poop.

That said, if I wouldn’t have any yet, perhaps I’d go for the H2C too, but the H2D is the same in terms of quality and has slightly bigger print Volume too. So, don’t get hung up on that and enjoy the H2D, but it’s just my 2ct, you’re obviously the only one knowing about your particular use cases.

Michael you are so practical. That has always been my argument for not buying an electric car. I don’t drive much, so I can buy a lot of gas for the delta in price.
With that said, I have been doing a lot of multi-color figurine prints with my P2S for friends. A 7 color 50mm tall figure took 60 hours, with 1000+ filament changes. The only issue I had was my poop chute kept filling up, causing the AI to pause the print. And there was a LOT of poop. I might go for an H2C just to save the environment…

Well, there’s always the option of spending 700 Euros on a filament recycler kit:

However, I am not certain on the specs of this recycler, from what I can tell, it can recycle PLA and (maybe) PETG but I think that’s where this machine’s capabilities end.

You also need to 3D print parts for it, just a heads-up. Use durable material since this is functional, and the insulation material for the nozzle assembly is toxic to inhale, so you will also need a respirator.

Interesting topic – thanks for the heads-up. My focus wouldn’t be on recycling, but rather on producing my own filaments, for example from PTFE.

So you’re telling me I can run the tubing’s material through the tubing to 3D print my own tubing?

Jokes aside, Yeah, I’m pretty sure you can use virgin plastic pellets to melt into spools using the ARTME maker. IDK about PTFE though.

(or if you really wanted, you can cut up the tubing material from the tubing)

I like your humor. And thanks to you, I also learned something: real PTFE cannot be extruded. However, I was actually referring to fluoropolymers in general.
