Looking to add an H2C to my printer selection. May be a stupid question, but it looks like it ships with 4 .4mm nozzles. I want a complete set of 6 at once. The ones that come with it I’m guessing are standard nozzles. Can they be used in conjunction with the hardened steel nozzles, or do I need 6 hardened steel nozzles? Same question with the high flow nozzles, can they be mixed with the standard .4? Thanks
Hi, yes, only 4 x regular flow 0.4mm induction nozzles are included, plus 1 each of 0.2 & 0.6. They’re the same as the regular flow nozzles one can buy separately (“hardened steel” except the .2), so they can be used in conjunction with those (as long as the size matches of course since we can’t yet mix nozzle sizes in one print).
Same question with the high flow nozzles, can they be mixed with the standard .4?
Yep, high flow and regular can be mixed among the induction nozzles (and also left/right in general). It’s potentially a bit more setup in the slicer (eg. there are now 3 places to edit speed settings – left, right regular, & right HF), and making sure the mapping to the printer makes sense in the end. But doable!

You’re welcome! And no, no clue on carbide induction nozzles… haven’t seen any news on that. Those darn nozzles already multiply like (expensive) rabbits, so I’m in no rush…

I would rather buy 1 and never worry. My H2S will do most of the abrasives, but still one less thing to worry about.
I tested a lithophane, so I set the project up for a 0.2mm nozzle. The problem is that now, whenever I select that configuration, it stays stuck on it for all my projects; unless I manually change it before slicing and lock the setting, it remains fixed on the 0.2mm nozzle! Is there a way to switch back to the 0.4mm one?

en faite, même le lithophane là fait en 0.4, avec la config de 0.2!! couche de 0.1, 0.15!! et tout fut clean
In the prepare screen, hit Sync Info, it lets you select which nozzle size you want to use for that project.

Which nozzles are actually mounted in the printer?
Basically you either sync with the printer and select one of the mounted sizes, or you configure the nozzles manually (size, flow, and count, per side) and don’t synchronize (eg. working on a project for future use, not based on what the printer currently has loaded).
If the printer doesn’t have matching nozzle sizes on both sides then only one side can be used for a print/slice. The slicer insists on both nozzle sizes being the same within a project, even if the printer isn’t configured that way (manually or via sync).
It is annoying that the slicer prompts to synchronize with the printer for every slice (I always say “no” and sync manually if I need to). (I actually have a fix for that submitted but it has been pending for months.)

In the Device screen, are you connected to your printer?
That’s normal, just the way the printers settings are edited, per nozzle size.

You’re sure about that? I’ve never seen it show just the printer w/out a nozzle size in that list. In my screenshot, I’ve not actually used any of those printers at all (I only have customized H2C settings).
just H2C, H2D, not 0.2 or 0.4
I don’t like it either because most settings apply to all nozzle sizes. I often end up managing my custom profiles manually because I can have less duplication that way. But that’s a different topic, definitely deserving its own thread.
