I have 3 newish H2C printers and all three seem to not release my prints very well. My X1C’s after they would cool down would just pop off. The H2C basic PLA will be really stuck on the plate. When I do pull the plate out and bend them, they will mostly come off but seems to stick in the middle of the print. When I pull them off they leave a little white residue.
I have cleaned these plates multiple times with soap and water with a real good scrub. I just can’t seem to get a real quick and easy removal of prints. I find it funny that it is the same on all 3 printers.
Has anyone else run into this?
The new PEI plates have a coating that increases adhesion. To deal with the white/grey stress marks a quick pass with a blow torch is the solution. They are caused due to stress of the polymer when removed, its not a residue.
You can also buy an aftermarket uncoated plate like BIQU PyroGrip for less grips, or for filaments like TPU and PEBA. PETG will pretty much weld itself to the new plate without adhesive as a release layer, so I use Frostbite or Glacier for it.
Yeah, I do have a torch to clean them, but it seems weird that the PEI plate is supposed to release after it cools down but it doesn’t do that very well. I think I will look at getting the BIQU, if I don’t already have it. I have the sticky plate but have not used it yet. The stuff I am printing I want the PEI texture.
A generic aftermarket PEI or the BIQU PyroGrip will work for PEI texture without the crazy grip, thats exactly the reason why I own one. I use it for 90A and softer TPU and PEBA, and sometimes PETG.
you’re basically asking for a perfectly tuned “sticky but not too sticky for most materials” plate which doesn’t really exist…

Pei plate is given by default for free for a reason.
I don’t use them anymore except on the kobra max where there aren’t other options. All the rest are smooth plates
All my pei are much or less ruined for the real same reason
I ran into too much on PEI with Jayo PETG HS. The solution is hairspray. Works like a charm. Easy to apply.

Dude don’t print petg on pei. I literally use anycubic/jayo petg filaments as well. Just don’t the pei, get a smooth plate and forget all these issues FOREVER
