H2C Rotary Engraving whats the usable length with Vortek rack on the right?

Hi all,

I’ve just purchased the H2D to H2C upgrade. I have the 40W laser version of the H2D, and I also have the Bambu rotary tool.

I’m trying to understand the maximum object length that can fit inside the H2C once the Vortek rack is installed on the right-hand side, mainly when engraving larger tumblers using the rotary tool.

For example, would the Bambu 40 oz stainless steel tumbler fit? Bambu lists it as having a height of 248 mm, so once it’s mounted horizontally in the rotary tool, I’m wondering how close it would get to the Vortek rack, or whether it would be too long to use comfortably.

I don’t do much with large tumblers, so this is mostly curiosity before the upgrade arrives, but it would be useful to know the practical limit.

Has anyone tried a 40 oz tumbler, or measured the usable length with the Vortek rack installed?

Thanks!

40oz tumblers are too long to fit with the rotary and vortek. Its even shown as incompatible in the suite software.

I would say that everything that fits above your laser platform is definitely not going to cause a collision with the Vortek system. Eventually the range of the laser in X would determine how far you can get with your engraving.

I have an opened ticket on this. I ordered a bunch of 40oz and I found out it’s greyed out in Bambu suite. They should call that on their website for the cups. But they think it’s a fw issue and it can be fixed with an update. Let’s see what they say if not I need a refund for 12 cups.
