Hi just had a weird issue on my h2c.
Using the same nozzle printing basic pla the print ran out in slot 3 and naturally tried to switch over to the same filament in slot 4.
I woke up this morning to the printer printing in thin air, no material coming out and what looks to have happened is the end of the material has got snagged in the reel so been unable to pull through.
What’s alarming is that the printer didn’t detect until 4 hours too late and it continued to try printing.
Has anyone had this before? I would have assumed it would have detected no material detected and stopped instantly?

There is a filament “presence” sensor in the extruder, and the extruder servo has overload detection - but because of how variable filament and feed paths can be, there isn’t really a way to detect an “underloaded” servo condition.
The AMS similqrly detects “filament or not” and “overloaded”.
Despite that, there are conditions where this sensing strategy won’t catch an abnormality.
…which brings us to the other sensing system. What are your AI print monitoring settings like?

Yep.. a piece probably broke off just above the extruder at the filament sensor so as far as the machine is concerned the extruder was turning and there was filament being extruded. Obviously no spaghetti to detect if nothing coming out of the nozzle. One of those scenarios where the machine won’t pick up this type of failure.
