Does anyone else have issues with the track switcher? Mine is giving me issues for every single print.
I have my ams with a 8” almost straight piece going into it and the side bracket so it’s going straight into the printer. I get this message EVERY TIME!
“Ams feed resistance is too high. Please reduce spool resistance or avoid overly bent tubing…”
And if I don’t get that error I get a “too much strain on motor” or something like that.
kind of irritating, if this was an issue why does the track switcher not have motors to help with the extra strain
Check that the PTFE tube isn’t rubbing on the switcher entrance or printer frame. Make sure the tube length isn’t shorter than Bambu recommends. Sometimes an overly short run can create sharper entry angles during switching.
For me… the switcher is a hot mess. My switcher adds at least 100% more drag than the base system (but I would honestly say around 200-300% more, meaning going from 0.5lbs to move the filament to a full 1.5lbs + of force). I can hear the motors nearly stall the moment they enter the switcher.
I just started having a problem with the filament guide at the toolhead, so I have removed the switcher from the path. I’ll pull it off and see if I can rework the internal path to drop some of the resistance. But if I can’t, I’m not going to damage my printer/AMS 2 Pro any more than I already have.
Proceed with care, and understand the extra drag in the system is going to come at a cost (at some point). Hopefully, the motors are robust and overbuilt and will last for years, and allow you to get your money’s worth before they fail. However, I doubt that is the case, and I suspect people will be replacing these motors fairly frequently if they choose to use the switcher.
