Since day one, all of my prints have been failing and my success rate has been very poor. I’ve tried everything. My main issue is that the parts keep lifting off the build plate. I’ve used Magigoo, Bambu glue stick, etc. I wash the plate with water and soap and get the same result. No matter what I print, something always lifts and ruins the print. Sometimes using the skip option I manage to save part of it.
I calibrated the printer with everything available, including nozzle calibration and the Vision Encoder bed sheet calibration. I opened a ticket with Bambu, but I wanted to ask for your advice in case there’s anything else that can be done. I know that switching to a cold plate like the Biqu ones solves the problem. Personally, I have several printers and textured PEI has never been one of my favorites, even though the textured finish doesn’t look bad. Once I changed all my beds to cold plates, the number of failed prints dropped dramatically.
Of course, this is a delicate topic because every case is different. I know people who use textured PEI with glue and have no issues, but I personally don’t like using glue because, in my experience, the parts always end up with some glue residue.
Regarding your issue, do you think the nozzle is damaged, or could it be the hotend itself? I haven’t had any problems, thank God, but I only use PLA, and so far the cold pull option has helped me in some clogging situations.
I know that at one point Bambu had nozzles available and I didn’t order them in time, so now I’ll have to wait for them to restock so I can have at least three extras for emergencies. I hope they’re able to help you resolve it.
I think it’s just bad slicing, or wet filament, or a combination of both. Doesn’t look like your printer has physical issue. Please upload your 3mf file, insert a usb drive to your printer and enable video recording. We can analyze your slicing, and you can find the video recording to see the exact moment when things go wrong in the future.
This is certainly not a problem specific to the H2C. It sounds like either poor quality filament (e.g., wet or contaminated) or incorrect slicing parameters. The list of potential causes can be quite extensive.
I have already been in this for 4 years and I have 15 printers, including one H2D, and these same models do not give me any problems on my other printers. I am doing another test, but this time I’m using Nano Polymer as an adhesive for the build plate. If it prints correctly, it will be more than clear to me that the issue is adhesion, since the first layer comes out perfectly.
I dry my filaments for 8 hours before each project, but to be honest, it’s possible that I sometimes grab one that I thought was dry and use it. Even so, on all my printers I use cold beds at 45 °C and I don’t have any kind of problem, including the H2D, which also has one.
That’s why I shared the video from 3D Print Nerd, because the exact same thing happened to him, and according to him, Bambu sent him a new PEI plate and it solved the issue. It’s hard for me to believe that this could be the cause, but since cold plates are not yet available for the H2C model, I don’t have another option.
I just received my new nozzles and loaded 90A filament into one of them. A transparent, oily substance came out of the nozzle. Does anyone know what this could be? I’m wondering if this liquid might be causing prints not to stick.
I haven’t connected my printer yet, so I can’t confirm anything. In the short video attached, you can see how it oozed out—at least one or two drops of an oil-like substance came out of the nozzle.
I tested all three nozzles: two of them released this substance, while the third one was completely dry.
3D Printing Nerd had adhesion issues on the pei plate that came with his H2C. He spoke to his rep and they sent him a new pei plate and the issue went away. Im just guessing, but there has to be a lot of defective PEI plates in circulation. Maybe they were inadequately coated or the coating is contaminated with something from their supplier. I would request a replacement plate and see what happens.
I still have my doubts on that one he is also a voxel user and some other testing shows thats fine brand but does shrink a little more than bambu and as a results comes of the build plate little easier unless you compensate for that.
Possible plate issue. One of the YouTubers is came across was having the same issues and it ended up being a fault build plate. After he received a new one from BL, the problem was fixed.
I’ve only had one failure the entire time I’ve had it. And it wasn’t a bed adhesion issue. I am very persistent about making sure my bed is completely clean and I made sure all my filament was dried and have remain under 20% inside the AMS.
I’m 5 days in to mine as well. I’ve done multitudes of tests(all with the stock textured PEI), including the same tests twice but flipping the plate, with various results and printing the same print in 9 different spots. My first 3 tests varied with 2 or 3 out 9 passing. The fourth test resulted in all failing but the 2 that survived out of the first 3 tests were in the exact same spots on both sides of the build plate. It’s a frustrating issue seeing as all that I ever do for my near perfect X1C is to hit the PEI sheet with 99% alcohol and a lint free rag and hit print.
I’m 5 or 6 days into my ticket on my printer I’ve had since November and they’re pointing to a faulty build plate too. I guess we’ll find out when I get a new one if they can send it out soon. I’m planning on getting cryo plates when they’re released from BIQU.
