H2D Crashed Z into bottom of machine during Cold Pull maintenance

I was completing the cold pull maintenance for my H2D when I noticed something odd during the procedure. The cold pull procedure at least for the High Flow nozzles does not home the machine prior to moving the Z axis down 100ish mm’s. I already had the Z down a bit to change the nozzle but when I went to perform the cold pull procedure on the second, left nozzle the machine proceeded to perform the same process of lowering the Z by like 100mm. This time it proceeded to crash hard into the bottom of the machine and made a buzzing noise for a good 10 seconds while the motors tried to push the build plate past the stops.

Has anyone else experienced such a thing with their H2D? I have printed since the crash and thankfully everything seems okay but It was quite scary to see the machine potentially damaging itself by using a built in macro provided by Bambu.

I noticed the same (it skipped homing Z for me as well), I think this is a bug. Dropping Z without homing is dangerous.

Luckily for me it didn’t crash on anything, but I did notice it so I paid extra attention…

Can you please open a ticket with more details and the log file?

Our team was not able to reproduce this bug, so we would appreciate it if you can share more details so we can find out what happened and patch this bug.

@SupportAssistant Hmm, just making sure, when you start the cold pull process on 0.4mm HF nozzle, do you see a Z homing process? Because mine doesn’t home Z. I can submit a ticket after work but I think it should be able to reproduce on any H2D with 0.4HF nozzle? As both OP and me had the same experience…
