H2D Cutting Upgrade

I’m not entirely sure which parts I need to buy to be able to cut with my H2D.

Are the following components sufficient?

-Cutting Module (as soon as available)
-Pen Holder (not for cutting, but that doesn’t make the roast any fatter)
-Blade Holder
-Fine Point Blade
-Cutting Platform
-Birdseye Camera (possibly via the laser upgrade package)

Or will there be an upgrade package containing everything I need as soon as the cutting module is available?

I wouldn’t pre-buy anything. The cutting module will most likely be available on its own, but if they do end up selling an upgrade package, it’ll probably be cheaper than buying everything separately.

I wouldn’t buy anything at all, because the first people tried it and the cutting module didn’t work on an H2D combo (without laser pre-installation).
There must be an official package with the appropriate firmware – it’s more or less announced.

i hope they will release it soon because its funny they release the laser first and even a h2d pro…

the cutter is handy for some jobs - but if its too expensive i rather would buy a real plotter…

They offer it, but it doesn’t come with the Birds Eye camera. How will it work without it? Strange to exclude that from an “upgrade kit” H2D Cutting Upgrade Kit | Bambu Lab US Store

Per the purchase page of the cutting upgrade, the birds eye camera cannot be used without the laser module to calibrate the cutting module. There will be a way to calibrate the cutting module available in the future. So if you buy the cutting module with out the laser module upgrade, it won’t be usable until the calibration method is available in the future.

Bambu doesn’t directly explain why the Birds Eye camera isn’t included, but it makes some sense. Bambu’s idea is that if you buy the laser kit, you get the Birds Eye camera, and if you want to buy the cutting kit later, it doesn’t make sense to have two Birds Eye cameras.

It would be nice, though, if they specified that you have to buy the Birds Eye camera separately with this kit.

It’s not needed or either this or there’s another thread on here somewhere. I received my kit today, but don’t have time to mess with it. But pretty excited to possibly transform one of my units to a semi permanent vinyl cutter! I’m the sense that I’ll leave the plate and film ready to go, and try and print something that can hold the module safely…
