As a person who has both A1’s and no budget to buy the H2D, would it be possible to stick the H2D extruder on my current A1? I figured it would take some serious coding and adapters to work, BUT both printers use linear rails so it should work in theory, right? Would this be something to look into, or is this a lost cause?
No chance. But you can use the new standard and high flow hot end from H2D on the A1. Both will have higher flow than stock A1 hot end.
I need the dual extruder without nuking my wallet
Ya zero chance, would need new controller, carriage, etc… pretty much a new printer. Maybe they will release an A1 Plus with dual nozzles if this is successful in sales.
Or pester them to do a toolhead conversion kit Prusa style.
Wont happen brother dont waste your prayers, especially on the small A1.
I have both types of A1’s I figured it will be a definite lost cause with the A1m. I was hoping for the A1 to be dual.
I just meant A1 is too small for dual print heads, even the larger one.
I just did some quick math, so it might be wrong, but if the H2D was magically put on the A1 Right now, the toolhead would get me around 240-245mm of usable print space.
Except it doesnt wvem have the instruments to level it properly so it wouldn’t work. You can hope but they will never ever release a conversion kit like this and it will never work on an A1.
