H2D Firmware V01.01.30.00 Now in Public Beta!

New H2D Firmware Available for Public Beta Testing!

We’re excited to announce that firmware V01.01.30.00 for the H2D is now available through our Public Beta Program.

To access the beta firmware, simply join the Beta Firmware Program via the Bambu Handy app under Me → Beta Firmware Program.

Once enrolled, the update will be pushed to your device gradually.

You can leave the Beta Program at any time by disabling the option in the app and installing the latest official firmware version.

Important

This firmware version requires an update for the Bambu Studio Presets. Please check the changelog before updating the firmware.

New Features

  • Added build plate position detection function

This feature detects whether the build plate is correctly aligned during print preparation stage by identifying features like heatbed limit blocks using the live view camera and toolhead camera. It prevents issues such as build plate interference, bed leveling failure, and printing beyond the edge of the build plate. The feature requires Bambu Studio version V2.2.0.68 or above.

  • Added nozzle clumping detection (by probing)

This feature work in conjunction with nozzle clumping detection by nozzle camera, covers a wider range of printing scenarios. During the 4th, 11th, and 20th layers of printing, it detects nozzle clumping using the extrusion force sensor.
When performing the detection, the toolhead moves outside the heated bed, executes a downward probe touch, and then resumes printing. Any nozzle oozing during this process is absorbed by the prime tower to prevent print defects, for models with an existing prime tower, it will be reused.
For models without a prime tower (e.g., single-color models), a small prime tower is automatically created. This feature requires Bambu Studio version V2.2.0.68 and can be disabled in the print settings as below:

  • Added maintenance reminders for XY axis cleaning and lead screw lubrication

When the XY-axis and lead screws reach their maintenance interval, an HMS notification will be triggered. Component usage duration is calculated from initial activation. After updating to this version, certain components may generate reminders – simply follow the prompts.   • Added contact-less 3D mesh curved surface engraving (requires a supported version of Bambu Suite coming soon).

  • Added support for the Auto Fire Extinguishing System (sold separately.) (requires a supported version of Bambu Suite coming soon).

  • Added BirdsEye camera position check. The system can detect positional shift of the BirdsEye camera due to prolonged use or vibration, then prompts users to run recalibration of the BirdsEye camera for higher accuracy.

Feature Optimizations

  • Optimized the result display of motion accuracy calibration function.

  • Optimized energy-saving mode: add control of the Status indicator and AMS indicator lights.

  • Optimized the humidity display of the first gen AMS.

  • Optimized extruder control, improved extrusion overload issue.

  • Optimized the notification display of HMS messages.

  • Optimized the position accuracy and thickness measurement accuracy of hybrid processing including laser

Known Issues:

  • Filament PTFE tube detachment detection is temporarily disabled.

Very nice. Any word on when the fire supression system will be for sale? Or possibly giving us settings for the bed heater power? So the ups threads can die

@SupportAssistant I don’t know if it was like this before the beta upgrade but at the end of liveview camera calibration, the toolend remains on the rear right of the plate and is not parked at the purge chute location.

AMS1: not sure it’s an improvement to now show humidity level as A,B,C etc rather than RH%. RH% is still available in banbu handy and studio though.

probably will never happen. the nozzle camera is failing to detect clumps and spaghetti (at least not as advertised, way too many misses as shown by all the blobbed and destroyed nozzles) and lots of false positives too. I wouldnt trust it to finetune something as delicate as flow. except if the camera is actually powerfull enough they have intentionally nerfed it to save on computing power?

Well, the nozzle cam may not be powerful enough but I believe the tool head camera is considering it can read those tiny QR codes on the vision encoder plate and calibrate the motion accuracy.

If creality can do it, Bambu can do it too.

And when are they gonna fix the flushing volumes in the slicer/firmware? :confused:

Has the print quality been improved regarding Z-banding? It’s about time the H2d reached the quality of my A1 mini.

Literally only i want the beta to try if they fixed the change color flushing volumes…

Are you all finding the options for the AMS and other lights? Maybe I’m missing something?

It’s automatic, no user inputs. When H2D goes idle, chamber light, bar light and AMS2 lights go off (not AMS1 or AMS-HT).

Oh great goobledygoop… Lol… I thought I could possibly make the AMS lights “stay on”… Oh well…

This. Why has the team decided to go backwards on that change @SupportAssistant ? I liked seeing an actual humidity % on my AMS-1.

Pretty sure this has something to do with the new Sunlu AMS drier. Sounds like they dont want you to crossreference the sunlu reading with their readings? like if a is -20%, b is 21-30 and c is 30+, they can still “hide” big differences in reading like that, sunlu shows 19, ams1 old would show 10 but now it says A … eh… honestly thats a leap backwards if anything

I don’t have the latest beta bambu studio but in my version, RH% appears as well as in bambu handy, seems like it’s only the printer menu that shows A, B, C, D

True so yeah its not about hiding anything… what could it be then? maybe the printer gets confused and mixes the two? I cant explain it really… buffling
