H2D freezes and ruins print

Today my H2D started freezing and ruined the print, it happened twice, during printing and during unloading of filament, display becomes extremely slow, almost unresponsive until i restart it. Slicer also having hard time to connect during freeze. Anyone had the same issue?

Have you tried removing the USB stick?

No, i will try next time it will happen again. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you think USB stick could cause the issue?

Failing/full media can cause hangs. It’s uncertain if the printer can recover from a hang if the drive is removed once it occurs. The only real way to know if it’s the USB is to removed and see if the printer hangs without it installed. Alternatively you could use a different USB.

I suspect this is a memory leak; it tends to occur after the printer has been online for several days, sometimes weeks.

But printer was turned off before i started printing, though i constantly get 'memory is full" error, that should be fixed by last update, though they haven’t uploaded it yet

I have my printer for about 7 months, and I think I have sometimes not switched it off for 2 months. I have never had a frozen printer.

Based on the info, my guess is a bad USB stick.

My X1 Carbon printer experienced severe freezing issues, pausing mid-print for 20-30 minutes at a time. The problem suddenly resolved itself, functioning normally as if no issue existed, which reinforces my suspicion of memory leaks in specific scenarios. I cannot confirm this definitively, as I was unable to pinpoint the root cause.

Yes I’m really hoping that this is usb issue…

Shortly before my hotend cooling fan failed completely, I experienced a few freezes where the control panel became unresponsive. Let’s hope no similar issues are around the corner.

So just a short update, the issue became so common that it happens every print, it starts freezing, lan only livewied disables itself, screen became completely unresponsive and print starts to pause for a few seconds, then starts again, it happens several times until it fully freezes and could only be fixed if i restart it. Support told me that they are sending replacement AP board to try to fix this issue.
