H2D/H2S (&H2C) USB Port on Top

The H2D & H2S come with a USB-A port located on the top left front corner of the printer (correct?). I assume the H2C’s USB port is in the same place.

Could someone with an H2D or H2S tell me which way this USB port is oriented. I’m thinking of getting a Right Angle adapter to plug into the port so that my USB stick is not standing straight up where it could be knocked off and broken. If I want the USB stick laying down and facing away from the front of the printer, which way is the USB-A port going to be oriented?

Do I need to buy the Down or Up version of the adapter?

Or would the Left/Right adapter be better and have the USB stick laying flat across the front of the printer?

This is infinitely worse than just plugging in a low-profile drive.

It spreads the force more evenly to the USB drive in case of a hit, instead of applying an uneven torquing force that can rip out the drive and damage the port.

Careful buying other low profile drives, make sure its rated for hot operation and has good speeds, otherwise it can affect the print quality! Other people on the forums had problems using low quality/speed flash drives.

Don’t use this, use one of the drives other people have tested. This one is likely too slow.

Likely? You’re guessing? I’ve been using it for months.

Its listed as 25Mb/s. The requirement for H2 series is “actual minimum write speed needs to be greater than 10Mb/s”. I prefer to use one with much faster write speed in case of random writes etc. Lots of times they advertise false speeds and/or when it warms up the speeds drop significantly, thats the reason bambu used that language. Samsung is 110Mb/s and heat resistant, still performs when hot.

Speed is good and a good brand, but its USB-C, printers port is USB-A. :thinking:

Thanks. I have a 512gb like the one they sell on the store. Just go with that. This is what happens when you get in a rush. Good news for me is I just got a new thumb drive for my laptop.

Do not choose that drive.

Does the H2C support the 400Mb/s of USB 3.1?

I found a 128Gb with low profile that I was hoping to use.

No, but you still want a fast drive for random writes etc. You just wont see any speed gains from the larger capacity models. I use the same drive if you look earlier in this thread.

I and many other people use that same drive. It is great though I prefer at least 256gb because I keep video monitoring on.

I got the Samsung Fit 3.1 256GB for my new H2C.
It is currently formatted using exFAT file system.
Should I use this or format it to FAT32 before installing it?

I prefer exFAT as its a newer more versatile formatting structure designed for modern OS and flash storage. Printer can read both FAT32 and exFAT, but if you format with the printer it will be FAT32.

If you care about keeping your print timelapses for any significant amount of time, get the 512gb… That holds ~45d of prints here.
