I have a H2D that gave me a clean the lead screws notice, no problem I have an X1C and have been doing this for the last couple of years. When I was putting the grease on the two forward screws, I noticed that the top of the screws has a lot of play and could move very freely. Has anyone else noticed this on their H2D?
This is normal, there is no bearings at the top.

As for why it is normal:
The thread bush in the build platform is basically guiding the lead screw. Additional guiding at the top would possibly introduce wring and additional wear when all would not be perfectly aligned.
Yes, that’s actually normal. The lead screws are only constrained at the bottom, not at the top, so they will feel quite loose when you move them by hand. This design is intentional — if the screws were fixed at both ends, even a slight misalignment could cause binding and wear over time.
A simple way to think about it: imagine holding a pencil straight up with your fingers only at the bottom. The tip at the top can wiggle around if you touch it, but once you press it against a ruler (just like the gantry does during motion) it stays perfectly straight. The same principle applies here — the movement and weight of the gantry keep everything aligned during printing.
So nothing to worry about — your H2D is behaving exactly as designed, and that “play” you feel at the top is actually a feature that helps ensure smoother motion and longer life for the mechanics.

It needs the wiggle room for leveling purposes. If one screw is off just a little and all were fixed, the bed would bind and things would break. My large laser bed is the same way.
