It’s me again. My printer is over 900 hours in around two months, so I guess it’s natural that it’s starting to see issues.
The left hotend isn’t heating up at all now; I submitted a ticket to support and the wiki page they recommended doesn’t exist. A secondary symptom is that the blocker can’t move smoothly and raises errors when I try to print with only the right side. If I poke the left hotend a bit and hit retry, the blocker moves fine and the print moves on.
I googled around a bit and saw a few posts suggesting that the only real way to fix this is probably by tearing down the extruder and ordering a replacement part. Hopefully support will replace the part, but we’ll see.
I think my failure-to-prints ratio isn’t that bad, but man, this kind of troubleshooting is a bit demoralizing. If Bambu represents “it just works”, then I’m really glad I didn’t get another brand as I’d probably have given up a long time ago.
I would check this item and clean the sliding bar for the left nozzle, sounds like it can be dirty.
Thanks! I’ll put that on my checklist.
For now I’m waiting to hear from support since I also read elsewhere that tearing apart your extruder without explicit instructions can void your warranty…
Not really void the warranty since it’s routine to disassemble the toolhead, if you break anything and they didn’t ask you to disassemble the toolhead you might not get spare parts. If you void the warranty you could never replace anything on your own.

They’ll be sending over a new TH board. That was easy, I guess. I hope it’s the cause!
Did you swap the right hotend heater assembly? Could it be just the hotend heater assembly. A lot of small connectors. The TH board replacement is not easy. Be prepared to replace more more parts when you broke a connector.
Support recommended the TH board and that’s what they’re sending, so I think if I were going to swap the heater assembly, I’d have to order one on my own, right?
edit: I just checked and the left heater assembly is sold out
We have reviewed the log files and identified abnormal communication with the TH board.
Therefore, we consider the TH board to be the most likely cause of this issue.
Heard back from Bambu support today. Guess I’ll be putting aside some time this weekend to try to do this replacement… wish I could just pay someone since I have bad eyes and shaky hands
