Check that the “Purge Wiper’s” two tabs did not come dislodged at the bottom of the purge wiper.

It gets even louder once it starts chopping filament like it’s preparing a salad.
There are a few posts from users who’ve tweaked things to reduce the noise, but honestly, what you’re experiencing is completely normal. Nothing here suggests a problem. It’s a mechanical machine, and definitely not something I’d keep in the bedroom — for far more reasons than just the noise.
We had the same discussion with a CNC once. A user reported ‘excessive noise’ during homing. Honestly, the homing sounded like a polite knock compared to the moment the spindle ramped up to 15,000 RPM and started chewing through metal. And even that was quiet compared to the vacuum system blasting dust out of the machine.
I was genuinely impressed by what they imagined a CNC would sound like — especially considering the manual explicitly tells you to wear hearing protection during operation
