H2D missing 0.8 mm Nozzle profile

Does anyone know why the H2D is missing a 0.8 mm nozzle filament profile for PETG-HF/CF? This post mentions similar issues to what I am seeing, but the best fix I saw was to create a new printer profile for the extruder. It seems this may be an oversight by Bambu Lab, and it would be nice to get an official fix.

Below is the image I took of the profiles shown when I have a 0.8 mm nozzle selected on the H2D.

Don’t have an H2D but the 0.6 & 0.8 nozzles are in the same definition in

Did some looking in Studio and I am thinking this is a case of BL thinking people will assume the 0.6 def is OK because it’s the only one we are showing you. Don’t know that for a fact.
Seems a coin toss (or maybe a 12 sided die roll) sometimes if something isn’t showing as if to it is rolled into what you can see listed vs we just haven’t got there yet vs oops, we will fix that…

I don’t have one either so it likely hasn’t been created (as a separate profile). But I’m trying to think of a downside to it. I’ve used the 0.8mm profiles for PETG with the combined profile, and I didn’t notice an issue, did you find something was odd?

Personally, I didn’t see a P.A. or flow issue when I used it, so it completely slipped past me. If it were causing me a problem I could get behind causing a fuss, but as it is… I’m not seeing a downside. But I’d like to hear what you are finding.

@Thud-oops and @just4memike, I am seeing serious issues with retraction across multiple spools of PETG HF (fresh from the bag). I have dried them some, but I truly do not think this is the problem. It was much better when I switched to a 0.6 mm nozzle.

My print was a massive box, so retraction wasn’t an issue for me. With drying issues you can generally tell what the problem is. Stringing is an issue, but if the rest of the print looks beautiful, you can pretty much confirm that isn’t the problem.

Print temps would be the first thing I would check. Make sure there isn’t an odd mapping for this profile that bumps up the print temp to something high like 280-290. Not likely, but I would check for the obvious first.

If that squared up, and looked good, I would just print a temp tower test just to confirm the profile is in the right ball park for the filament. Unfortunately, with the H2D, these calibrations have become more tedious. With no in slicer calibration test for those or access to Orca, you may have to make a manual one.

Well hopefully at some point BL will come up with a seperate dedicated 0.8 tuning.

I too wish Orca was easy to access for their calibration tests and such.
