Picking up a H2D Combo.
Are there any ‘must have’, or even ‘nice to have’ accessories that I should purchase alongside it?

- Proper circuit to use the unit on (max 1600 watts when heating)
- If using an extension cord, the proper gauge
- Nozzles, different sizes and backups
- Extra Air filter
- I purchased an additional build plate but haven’t really needed it, the PEI textured plate has been great so far. I purchased a biqu cryogrip frostbite plate
- After you run out of the included grease and oil, going to need maintenance materials.

If you think you might ever want to hook up more than 2 AMS units to it grab a 4-in-1 splitter.

Great addon for any printer too. I have one of them on every printer. I don’t use it all the time, but when I do it’s nice to have.

A fast USB thumb drive, a bad quality drive can cause issues with print quality. I (and many others) use the SanDisk 256GB Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Flash Drive as they’re an obvious choice with their low profile and being Sandisk they should be reliable and of good quality.
Any size is fine, I’d probably say to keep it at 128GB and higher just because they can fill up fast with video recordings.
A USB drive isn’t included with the printer??!
And it doesn’t take a MicroSD like the A1 I had before? So a USB drive is an absolute must?
The printer will work without one but you probably want to grab one, just because they’re cheap and useful.
They slot in at the top of the printer, so the low profile design helps to blend it in and it not be an obstruction to accidently knock.
The position being on top is a bit of an odd choice although I can see why they did it. Two USB slots might have been nice, one at the back where you can leave the drive plugged in and then the one on top for more temporary use, like firmware updates and manually taking files to the printer or whatever.

Doe the printer have any built in memory for small print jobs etc also - or does it rely on external memory only?
It has some built in memory, I have also purchased the same USB that Minty recommends. I can barely tell it’s there despite Bambu putting the USB on the top left corner. I can imagine that if I had used one of the more common USB drives, it would be snapped off by now as I have bumped that area getting into my AMS.

It’s not a requirement, but if you want to save to USB for a later print or to enable time-lapses, you’ll need some form of external storage.
What you’ll also need — with any printer — is patience. Fortunately, that one’s free

Curious how you are using the cryogrip plate. Did you just disable the check plate option? I get an error to check the heatbed everytime I use mine.
I posted my solution to this on another thread. TLDR: there is a model on MakerWorld with the QR code for the smooth plate. The H2D has no problem reading it.

One last suggestion, the “H2D on the go” is a tote created for the active maker to take their H2D anywhere!

I want to ask same question, I’m planning to buy H2D, want to know what to buy right away, plate? fast hotend? (I have some creality filament so I will try to use all of that first) .
I would get the smooth plate - otherwise I didn’t find I needed anything else at all.
Over time I have added an additional AMS and another AMS-HT, but really it was good to go out the box!
