Alright, I’m having a really hard time deciding on which printer I’m wanting to buy. I’ve been deciding for the past two weeks and landed on the H2S first but after some second thoughts, I’m worried about purge wasted if I’m gonna be doing multi-material
My question is, for anyone who has bought the H2D or the H2S (or both), have you guys regretted buying one and not getting the other?
I’ve thought about buying the H2S and the X2D later on but the only thing I’m hesitant about is the quality of an auxiliary nozzle not being as identical as the main nozzle.
The H2D works for my needs, two direct drive nozzles, large build area. I don’t do a large amount of prints with more than two materials/colors. I would probably be fine with the H2S 80% of the time.
You really need to determine your concurrent filament usage and build area needs. Also is it just for you to fiddle around with or you planning to sell things? I’m not selling stuff, and you should consider that with my opinions.
I was in your shoes a month ago and chose the H2S. The only thing I’m thinking I’ll miss is the ability to use multiple materials at the same time and of course, more poop from the H2S. I prefer to keep it simple and the H2D with all the moving parts kind of intimidated me. Hope that helped!
Multi-material is the most important feature for me, so the H2D was my choice. Honestly, I don’t really care much for the extra build area. I just don’t print monster large. I went with the H2D and even later dropped down to the build area of a converted H2C (liked having multiple nozzle sizes available at the click of a button).
Again, the build area wasn’t the big draw for me so the H2S was never really in the running for me.
I only own an H2D, and the 2 nozzles is great for me. I am not doing a lot of multi material prints, but having the 2nd nozzle for support material is great!
Purging between main and support material requires a lot of volume to prevent contamination, which weakens your print.
If volume is not that important, you might even consider the X2D. Unfortunately there is not yet a lot of long term experience with that new printer.
Having two nozzles for multimaterial is a must for me, even if you don’t print multicolor you still have the advantage for supports. At this moment If I have to choose one printer from the BL lineup I would consider just 3 printers: X2D, H2D and H2C. Choosing between them will come down to just two factors: print size and budget. I went with the H2C, buy once, cry once.
