I’m printing with two 0.4 heads and doing a two filament print with ASA in the right extruder and HIPS in the left extruder as interface material.
The print is going well but during print changes from the left to the right, the right extruder poops on the print bed and not in the chute. I’ve logged off both Studio and the printer and logged back in. Turned the printer off and back on and let is setup normally. Still doing it. I’ve attached a video.
are you using one as a support interface material? I’m having the exact same issue just dropping it on the plate like that, when using a support interface material in the slicer.
Update: you can see in background behind the tower the poop directly on the bed.
Yes, I did mention the HIPS was for interface and I’m having the exact same thing. I guess it’s a bug. What version of Studio are you using? I’m using V2.2.1.60. I may drop back a few releases before the new ‘blob’ detection and see if it stops misbehaving.
I was having the same problem (purging near the center rear on the bed) when printing with two nozzles and different filaments about 2 months ago, but after a firmware update I haven’t noticed it again. So either one of the updates fixed it or the exact conditions haven’t come back. For me it was printing with TPU and PLA together, and I want to say it was about 2 updates back (but maybe 1). So, if you haven’t updated it recently, give that a try.
How would I check the ‘extra purge’ you mention? I searched for the parameter and can’t find it. I searched the forum and can’t find it. Can you guide me to it?
I noticed when it was happening to me that it would do that odd purge on most layers so I would grab a g code viewer or just open it in a notepad (assuming it can read the lines) and look for an odd purge event. You may be able to see it in the slicer by reviewing the line by line code that the slicer has. I don’t have my pc to look at the slicer’s layer by layer code (in the slicer it shows the code being run when you select a layer on the slider).I’m talking about the section on the slicer that allows you to add pauses. If you are good at reading a little code, you should be able to see the tower and look just before that and see if there is a line of code that is telling the printer to extrude at the back of the bed. If there is nothing , I would assume the problem is in the firmware.

I’m new to the H2D and just did a print last night with PETG-HF in the left and Support for PETG/PLA in the right. The support filament kept pooping at the center rear of the build plate. Many times the head would grab the poop and move it somewhere else. Sometimes right into the prime tower and sometimes attached to the edge of the tower. I spent some time nursing it and moving the poop way off to the side. I looked at the g-code that scrolls by in Bambu Studio and it seems like it’s happening in a line that reads G1 Y320 F30000. I’m not G-Code literate at this point so I’m not sure what this means. The print came out great but this on the build plate poop doesn’t seem right.
You are correct, it’s not right. Several of us are having the same issue. I’ve submitted a Support Ticket about it since we couldn’t solve it in the thread. I have not heard back yet but it’s been a few days.
I also found that it happened at that spot in the G-Code but I’m not an expert either. What I could not find is where the head was told to move away from the chute and to that incorrect spot on the back of the plate. I think that code ‘G1 Y320 F30000’ is for the Y coordinate for the very back of the plate. But I could be wrong. I mean it is correct in that the head is indeed at the back of the plate. It’s just in the wrong X coordinate. If it were in the correct X coordinate, the poop would go into the chute.
I expect to hear something anytime. As soon as I do, I’ll come back here and let you know what they say.
I reported this issue too as the poop destroyed my build plate. Support was nice enough to replace my plate for me this time as they wouldn’t last time… anyways I recorded a video of what happened. Here it is, absolutely disastrous.
Ok, got it. I didn’t realize that was a link to a video. My bad.
While that was awful to watch, it’s not the same issue we are having here. It appears your machine somehow misinterpreted what the height of the bed was an dug into it. A pretty terrible sight. Luckily, I’ve never experineced that but I belive it belongs in a different thread.
If you find out what caused it please do report back so we can all not have to experience it.
Hey Rob, that actually does quite well relate to the issue that you and others are experiencing. It was caused by waste poop being left on the build plate due to this same issue.
What eventually happened to my plate may happen to yours and others.
Sorry but thats user error mate. Its one thing for debris to cause a collision or issues in any other manner, and another thing to start a print without checking if the buildplate is clear. You manually start the print job and its your job to check that the plate is clean before doing that. Now you can argue that it was the build plate ai detection that failed but thats already been explained to be experimental and not 100% reliable.

Support got back to me today. They asked me to just do maintenance tasks. I had already done them but did it again. No help. It’s not a XYZ belt tension thing, It’s some kind of bug. I’ll let you know what they say as they continue to work on it with me.
Hi, so what happened was the build plate had that waste poop placed on it from the purge cycle that the printer does for that specific print. This is different from what you assumed happened: the waste poop was there before the print started and then I absentmindedly didnt check it when I went to start a print.
