Has anyone using the H2D noticed that the length of the cables and PTFE tubes to the print head are a little too short? recently I noticed that when starting a print when the printer does it’s purge line on the front right corner of the bed I hear some popping noise from the buffer along with seeing the buffer spring snapping back and fourth once or twice.
I figured since I have several hours of print time on it, the PTFE tubes were starting to wear on the inside creating some friction for the filament. upon watching my printer carefully as it went through the process of starting a print I found that the PTFE tubes were getting pulled tight and almost kinking at the print head during the purge line. also I noticed that when the print head travels to the foremost front left during the start print process the cables in the track chain seem to be getting pulled tight and the chain bends at an almost 90 deg at the end where the buffer is.
It almost seems that both the PTFE tubes and the cable+chain needs to be slightly longer. I replaced both of the PTFE tubes with new ones (2.5mm ID x 4mm OD) I got in a roll from Amazon and cut them longer so that they aren’t pulled at ether end when the purge line prints. this fixed the issue of the buffer snapping. I don’t think I can get any extra length for the cables though. I would think it needs maybe 2 more links in the chain so the cable isn’t stressed. my fear is over time the cable would get stressed and possibly start having connection issues with the inner copper strands breaking. I know other printers like the older Creality Ender 5 S1 was plagued with this issue, I’m sure others were as well.
Edit: I went and looked at my print time hours, it shows 616 hours of total print time.
Just wanted to make a post here to see if others have seen this or run into issues with their cables or PTFE tubes with their printers having higher print hours on them.
