H2D print quality frustrations

I am primarily printing Bambu ABS and have been troubleshooting various things with my H2D to get it as dialed in as my X1C and have yet to be able to produce results with as good of quality.

Over the course of the last 3 months, I have done nothing with my H2D except make unusable prints and/or troubleshooting prints without arriving at a resolution.

In particular, I have noticed excessive surface undulations or ringing in the X, Y, as well as some pock marks in the parts which I do not have with my X1C. In addition, the surface shininess is either shinier or more matte than the X1C, depending on the layer height.

The pock marks seem random, but the ringing is fairly consistent unless dropping to very low speeds.

I can take the same spool from the H2D and put it into the X1C and get better prints.

Things that I have tried:

Drying filament, keeping desiccant in the AMS with humidity <20%

Reducing print speed

Reducing peak accelerations

Changing layer height

Changing internal support structure

All normal mechanical calibrations, including the high temperature bed calibration.

Precision motion control calibration with the special plate

Manual filament K factor calibration

Changing print temperatures

I also tried and have the same issues with PETG.

I believe I also tried printing a basic cylinder and had similar issues.

(Also, probably additional troubleshooting steps that I have tried and forgotten)

Has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, what do you do?

The blobs on the outer wall indicate that you are running too hot. You could increase the volume velocity or lower the temperature.

I own one X1 Carbon and one H2D.
I initially thought it would be a good idea to transfer my optimized profiles from the X1 Carbon to the H2D. However, that turned out to be a bad idea, as the two machines differ so much that, in my experience, it’s actually faster to build new profiles from scratch.
Aside from the hardware issues I’ve encountered when printing at high temperatures, the H2D produces beautiful results. Nearly all of my failed prints have been due to my own experimentation with settings, forgetting to apply glue when needed, or occasional hardware faults.
