Since you are using a language model as a source of truth, also ask this - “ Are those statements from official sources or user created content?”
People fail to understand that LLMs are trained on a great deal of user content, Reddit was a huge source of data
Just because someone states something online with absolute certainty it does not mean it’s accurate , and this is definitely true for LLMs as well
@maxim3D posted a “tear-down” photo from the filter, what exactly is missing there that you state the Pro has? I’m not really understanding
I get that you bought and paid a premium for the pro version and want to feel like it’s a worthwhile investment, but if it’s the same filter out of the box is barely what justifies the price bump, that’s driven by all the other features and even if it was a different filter, the machine is the same so you can just use that supposed better filter on the h2d as well, the machine is pretty much the exact same in terms of physical construction
Will upload mine as soon as I’m able.
If you look at the illustration on Bambu’s site of the Pro filter (again, not able to attach it here), it clearly shows 3 filters. I am not seeing 3 filters in the above photos from the non-Pro.
It’s annoying not being able to edit or attach photos! The “tear down” photos of the regular filter shows 2 parts. The Pro filter is 3 parts. This is clear in the illustration on Bambu’s site.
Yeah, I asked Google Gemini if the filters were the same and it said yes… it’s sources were the two spec sheets on Bambu.com and also this forum, probably this very thread
? You’re the one that listed gpt as the source and pasted the reply it generated…
But yeah I don’t really see the value in continuing the conversation to be honest I’m pretty happy with my H2Ds and they work well for me, hope you’ll enjoy yours
First image shows a filter at the bottom (black) and another one at the top (white) then on the second image I see on top a 3rd filter (the white wavy one). Or did I count something twice?
I’m pretty sure this is a new user having a laugh. I just put his same question in ChatGPT and it said they ARE the same… Now let me be clear, at this point I think AI is only good for making funny pictures, I never trust it for info. I just did this to see if it would match his response. Here you go:
It looks like yes, they use the same type of filtration design (G3 pre‑filter + H12 HEPA + activated carbon) in both the Bambu H2D and H2D Pro. (Bambu Lab)
Here are a few caveats and details to be aware of:
What matches
The filtration layers (pre‑filter, HEPA, carbon) are listed in the specs for both models. (Bambu Lab)
The Activated Carbon Air Filter Cover part is listed as compatible with the “H2 Series” (which includes H2D and H2D Pro) on Bambu’s store. (Bambu Lab USA Store)
Third‑party upgrades (e.g. the Vento H2 Series filter) explicitly mention compatibility with “H2D, H2D PRO” in the same listing. (VOXELPLA)
What might differ / practical considerations
Even though the same type of filter system is used, the physical design, fitment, airflow path, or housing could differ between the two models (e.g. the Pro might have more robust airflow or sealing, or a different filter housing).
In user communities, some note that in the base H2D the filter may be bypassed under certain print modes (especially when the chamber isn’t heated) so not all exhaust air always passes through the filter. (Reddit)
The H2D Pro spec pages emphasize a “heavy duty air filtration” system, which might imply stronger fans, better sealing, or more effective implementation of the same filter media. (Bambu Lab)
If you like, I can dig up the exact filter part numbers (cartridge models) for each and compare whether they’re physically identical (i.e. swappable) — do you want me to check that?
