H2D question

So, probably dumb sounding to you pros, so please don’t judge, but I don’t have an H2D. So, with the dual nozzle, and an AMS, since there are two different inlets for filaments, does this mean that if I were to do a multicolor print and I only have 1 AMS, that I would have to plug it in to only one of the nozzles and have it be 4 to 1 on colors?

Yes, you have it right. the nozzles cant share an AMS

Edit to add the new FTS may change that I guess.

Because you can only have 1 of the colors in the AMS at a time, I purchased the AMS HT for the other nozzle. That way I don’t have filament changes for 2-color prints.

Dang man, just another thing to buy. But I guess if you’re already paying as much as you are for the H2D itself, it’s kinda not that much for the $150 HT

Agree on the hit to the pocketbook but I really like having the AMS HT because with the latest firmware, I can dry filament or desiccant while I’m using the AMS Pro 2 for printing.

Best approach is to use main colour from external spool and other colours from AMS. This usually provides fastest print time.

3D printing is a money pit that we have alles decided to fall into. Better get use to it as you can add 1/2 dozen nozzles, TPU feeders, HT’s and half a metric ton of fillament​:rofl:

They cannot share nozzles, so without the switch, each AMS has to be dedicated to either the left or the right nozzle. In my setup, I have two AMS 2 Pro units and three AMS HT units connected to the left side, and two AMS 2 Pro units plus one AMS HT connected to the right side.

So with only one AMS, you need to decide which nozzle it will be connected to if you do not use a switch. However, even with the switch, each AMS can still feed only one filament at a time, because each AMS has only a single outlet. That means the switch does not allow one AMS to supply filament to both the left and right nozzle simultaneously.

Actually with the new Track Switch you CAN to some extent. Obviously two filaments in one PTFE tube won’t work but alternating does.

After installing the filament track switch, a dual-nozzle printer connected to a single AMS can also achieve dual-nozzle printing, supporting filament switching between the left and right hotends. However, the left and right hotends only support alternating filament feeding, not simultaneous feeding. During the switching process, the AMS will first perform a filament unload before reloading the new filament.

Hallo Gemeinde

Ich habe meinen H2D geschrottet. Das Heizelement der Düse hatte einen Kurzschluss und hat daher das TH Modul zerstört. Nun traue ich mich nicht an die Reparatur und suche jemanden der mir vielleicht helfen kann. Wohnort ist Friesoythe

Oder eine gute Anleitung wie man das Modul tauschen kann, ohne den halben Drucker aus einander nimmt

du solltest ein support ticket lösen. mit etwas geduld werden die dir bestimmt helfen.
wenn das mit der sprache ein problem wird benutze die ki !

Habe ja schon eine Anleitung gefunden, nur so ganz durchblicken kann ich nicht. Auch ein Ticket erstellen sind mehr oder weniger böhmische Dörfer, weil Alles erst übersetzt wird. Na ja
