Ok. After several days of testing and adjusting, it turned out that the primary issue was due to wipes and retraction during the wipe action.
Thank you very much for the advice! It helped to stay on track with my test attempts! Finally, I have the prints that are more or less satisfactory! But at least I see which direction to go for improvements.
Yeah, sometimes I turn all that stuff off some filaments work better with it, and some donāt. Also, the auto Z-hop can sometimes choose the wrong settings, so I prefer to set it manually using the filament override.
Absolutely! Thatās what I was changing and testing! Also, surprizingly good results were achieved while making retraction twice - 50% before the wipe and 50% after in my particular case⦠But of course, not applicable to all the models.
Thanks. I had using h2 in the hopes of cleaner walls, but canāt tune out strings. I will give wipe settings a look. Iāve been having issues even with pla. I spent days trying to get wind instruments to print clean - calibrated flow, PA, retraction⦠But prints were all stringy even when changing filament.
Ended up moving to x1 and getting perfect print first try.
I know this is an older thread BUT, they just did an update to the stock profiles for the H2D and other printers to fix a bunch of issues with them. I havenāt tested it yet as I just noticed it last night but this may be something they have addressed!?!
I have the same stringing issues with new PET-G from Creality. My H2d is also up to day and I have tired the various default petg profiles. One think i noticed is the temperatures are not adjustable.
Can anyone point out if they have found a resolution to this issue? Prints in Petg are unusable, I have spent a solid day of trying to trouble shoot this. it seems like a advanced issue for someone who is new like me.
Could someone please point out where the zhop and retraction settings are? I canāt seem to find them. Thanks for the help.
If so, you probably have been editing the filament parameters for the āStandardā nozzle. There is a pull down on top of the filament settings to choose the correct nozzle.
You find the Z-hop overrides in the filament profile also.
I do get much more fine stringing with the H2D, especially on small parts. But its almost impossible to tune because in only appears on longer full prints. Heat creep plays a part I believe, probably because of the 2nd nozzle. I have the same issue with my U1, and my friend has the same thing on her Prusa XL. I think the problem is much worse on toolchangers. Turning on the aircon reduces stringing significantly.
Iāve mostly switched back to printing multicolor stuff on my A1s, theyāre the most consistent by far. Any filament saved my the toolchangers gets lost because of the blemishes from stringing anyway.
