H2D uneven heatbed

Hey you Guys,

i want to tell you something about the unevenness of my H2D heatbed.

I was wondering about the jerky movements of the z axis, especially when the printhead is in the corners of the heatbed.

So i thought of the old times, back in the first X1C days :older_man: , where they had a lot of trouble with uneven headbeds. My X1C also had one of the worst heated beds that existed on earth :stuck_out_tongue:

To know what it’s like with my H2D bed i added a normal cube, scaled it to 300x320x5mm and printed it (calibrated Bambulab PLA Basic, Smooth Pei Plate, waited till the cube was at room temperature to not deform it)

And this is what i got:

Pretty horrible, what do you think? ^^

So i went to the procedures the support guys told me with the X1C.
Trammed the bed → no improvements

Then i opened a ticket.
They told me to tramm the headbed again with the metal angle on the front removed → no improvements

Now they send me a new headbed :-p
I am really curious how many beds they have to send me, till i got one acceptable.

Yes i have a bunch of X1C beds.

So if you want to test yours, print a big flat cube and look what you got.

I would be very pleased about some feedback and some good news with your printers

happy printing guys
greetings

you don‘t need to print anything; just use a ruler in both axis. I also had to replace the bed on my X1C, but the new bed was fine. H2D is not perfect, but I would say ok.

Trust me… print something :stuck_out_tongue:
and let the headbed preheat!!!

Cold:

Hot (PLA 55 deg):

the heatbed architecture is suboptimal.

Greetings

Yes, sure, there is a difference. But you see it with the help of a ruler.

Well i tried to talk with support about this problem, the H2D heatbed is extremely uneven, and most importantly, support said that it’s normal. I don’t think it’s normal for a printer that cost more than 2 grands.

Moreover i had uneven first layer with that and they said it’s in acceptable range, though the problem was that it’s incorrectly created table mesh, so i needed to recalibre bed a few times before it gave an acceptable result
