So we bought a Verbatim low profile 64GB USB for our new H2D. I don’t have any time lapses or videos on it and only 5 print files, all of which are small models. The printer says “29.9GB / 58.2GB”. Why is it using half of the USB drive for 5 print files?
Because you probably have video recording turned on. It records a high quality video of the print and those files take up a lot of room. Its not the timelapse, but the full quality video, they are different.
I have the live view enabled but that’s it and most of the time I don’t even use it. How do I see if video is on?
You have to plug the USB into a computer to check them.
Sure enough that did it. Video was on and I had no idea it was recording videos of every print. Thank you!
I have never deleted anything from my cards/usb drives and I always presumed the printer will delete the oldest videos as needed for adding new content. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I know my dashcam does that.
I once had a catastrophic failure that destroyed a brand new build plate. It was great to be able to watch the video and assess what happened. That’s the only time I needed a full video in thousands of hours though.
