H2D Used, Stolen?

Hi, I found a H2D online for $1,500, 10 hours on it .
Texted me pics and image of the hours but blocked the serial #'s on it and the AMS’s.
Should I check the serial #'s before buying?
Or can I even check them? I think before using it I will have to use the # to setup.
Thanks

They’re probably just being careful. You could ask for the original receipt which would pretty much prove they were the one that bought it new.

Get the original order invoice, without it you won’t be able to use the warranty. They might have changed the rules, but that used to be all you needed.

If they don’t have it, something is up.

You can check it if it’s powered on in the system settings. You probably should.

So the thing is there are indeed some “banned” machines that cannot upgrade the firmware because they’re returned to bambu (so bambu has revoked the serial number in their systems) but still sold through grey markets. I don’t know how it goes in detail, I only know for a fact that it exists and it’s pretty common in many countries simply because of how expensive it would be to ship it back to china.

The risk is true.

Thanks all, It seems a good deal and that sometimes is for a good reason.
I will see if they have a receipt or invoice and go from there.

They will have to redact both invoice number and serial number because that’s all is needed for someone to purchase a new AP board and turn a china locked H2D into a fully functional one (and in turn lock the original printer).

So the guy needs to be careful but what is selling might already be a china locked one to begin with so even redacted, yes you should ask for the original invoice. Ask him first where he bought it

$1500 for an H2D is a steal of a deal…. I’d wonder if something was up too!

Well no, that likely won’t work, ap board is not tied to region, but rather SN number. Plus you need to contact support in order to confirm replacement and activate new SN and replacement has to be done with their approval. And i also saw on x1c ap board page, a note that replacing won’t help with region lock, so it’s most likely the case with h2d

Yea 10 hours AMS still wrapped

It’s exactly what I was saying, you send support old S/N, new S/N of printer and invoice number and it gets activated. Now, you may be right that china lock printers may have their own set of S/N and so it wouldn’t work.

To come back to OP question, a legitimate 10 hrs H2D combo at $1500 may exist as you never know what life brings and you may need money quickly but it may also be a china locked one among other shady reason…
