H2D with Biqu Panda Perch - Dual TPU?

So at work I use the Bambu dual top mount spool holder for dual TPU prints.

At home I bought the Biqu Panda Perch for my dual AMS units so that top holder won’t work obviously. I was thinking of using the Bambu side spool holder along with a user -made spool holder for the Perch.

My question is can I feed TPU through the internal buffer units without issue? My thought was to pull the PTFE from the AMS and stick them in the side holders for when I want to print dual color TPU (I already have a few projects in mind). Will this work out should I try to find a way to feed them in from the top without going through the internal buffers?

No, typical/soft TPU should not be fed through the buffers (vs. “TPU for AMS” type filaments which are a lot harder). That’s why there’s the bypass PTFE tube port on the back.

Note that BL only recommends using 90A or harder on the left nozzle (at least in the firmware release notes… hard to find more details on left side TPU printing). Which doesn’t need top-feeding anyway, with a smooth filament path & roller box. (Some here, and myself, have found 85A (and some say softer) also works through tubes (on right nozzle), w/out the whole top-feed setup, but YMMV on that.)

I’m not sure yet how to feed two tubes into that bypass… I’ve seen some models for that already on MW, but haven’t investigated much. But seems like 2 tubes could be made to fit.

Personally I run a separate tube out the bypass port that connects to my dry boxes, running along the chain all the way to the head, with a spare clip to hold the end out of the way when unused. So there’s only one tube changeover at the head, and my TPU tube stays cleaner and smoother. Not sure yet if 2 extra tubes is going to be an issue.

Update: I ended up just printing two of the Panda Perch spool holders from Maker World and used some Creality star PTFE tubing. It worked perfectly
