H2S and ABS... why?

Hi all,

I printed this piece in ABS with my H2S.

Why is there this defect inside the hexagons where the hole is, which I highlighted with the yellow arrow?

I also made a video to show that the defect extends all the way around the hexagon, while in the other hexagons where there is NO hole, the wall is perfect and flawless.

Are you able to attach the .3mf file?

It’s a possibility that the “defect” you are seeing is a seam location.

Look up “Benchy Hull Line” which is exaugurated with ABS due to shrinking. After you slice, check the details for layer time, fan Speed, and print speed and you will likely see this pattern. Try and keep print speed and layer time consistent to prevent this. It could be changing the overhang settings, or print speed, or a cooling setting to prevent it.

Aside from these small variations in working speed and fan speed, I don’t understand why the defect is replicated all around the hexagon with the hole… in fact, the hexagons without the hole appear to be perfect…
