H2S axis homing issues

Have an H2S with axis homing issues. Had a failed print (spaghetti). Then after printer threw up a z axis error. Checked for potential obstructions. Found a little piece of support material near the back of the bed but nothing concerning. Tried to calibrate and I’m now getting an xy azis failure. Toolhead is crashing into back corner and spinning the belt(makes a loud vibrating sound before error finally appears). Belt tension is fine and am having a difficult time believing that this would be an eddy current sensor issue.
Printer is less than a month old. Bambu technical support hasnt updated my ticket in almost a week. Customer support wont initiate a return until technical updates the ticket.
Any experience here is greatly appreciated.

No solution was given. Unit was less than 30 days old so I was able to have a replacement shipped under warranty. I would have liked an explanation of the issue but trying to have a real conversation with Bambu customer support is impossible. They will just copy and paste links to the wiki at 4am pst.

Sorry I don’t. Mine was less than a month old and tried to have it replaced under warranty. i sent out the unit nearly a month ago and my replacement has no delivery date. Bambu customer support is crippled right now. I think they released a bunch of new products and have no ability to deal with the deluge of issues happening. Rather than support customers they’re really leaning on the idea that we’re all “makers” and want to fix their mistakes.

That’s my new H2S just failed with the XY issue. Tried the tensioner and cleaning the rails but it’s now making a serious grinding sound and if I move the rail forwards and backwards the head moves left and right rather than staying in position. It’s like something has jammed into the workings. I’ll raise a ticket and see what they say.

I found the issue: it is a stepper motor failure. In my case, it was the one on the right (Motor A).

To verify this, I removed the printer’s back cover and the belt tensioner. When manually turning the motor shaft, it should feel smooth and continuous. However, mine felt grainy and rough. I have opened a support case and am hoping they will send a replacement motor. Check motor access on the bambulab wiki at /h2/maintenance/replace-xy-motor

Mine just started to do this. Ai detected spaghetti and stopped. I redid the tension on my belts like 5 times, redid the gears in the filament cutter that got misaligned, and took off the back cover and checked every screw.

I noticed a weird sound like a bad bearing coming from the back right. Ludo said it’s prob a bad motor and i think I’m he’s right. The gear is not slipping on any shaft or worn down yet.

I was printing Asa at 65c. Maybe we are printing to fast at higher temps?

To me it is really an hardware issue, bad quality motor. Bambulab confirmed the diagnostic and is sending over a new motor, I’ll let you know how it goes.

Mine started doing this after a Z axis error mid print. After that I had the XY issue with noises at the back right corner. Has anyone had more information from bambu? Just submitted a ticket, printer was purchased a little over a month ago

I ordered a new motor on Friday when I first posted. New one arrived today. Took the A motor out to find the shaft completely snapped!!!

I’m sure you will find the same results.

Doing new calibrations now and everything seems to be back to normal.

I replaced the motor A with the one I received and everything works again. I did a full calibration before printing. In my case the shaft of the motor was not broken but I guess the inside has melted because turning it by hand was not smooth and even stiff at some point.
The last two prints came very nicely without any issues.

Thanks for updating, interesting it was motor A for both of you. I just got home to see my two motors finally arrived so I will open it up and see if motor A is also the cause!

Exact same thing happened to me. Motor A snapped, placed the new one in and calibration passed first try!

TLDR: Go for the parts option not the replacement device.
Same failure happened to me, less than a month old so I opted for a replacement device. I was concerned other parts had worn or been damaged due to the failure. That was a big mistake, repacking was difficult and, service is terribly slow, and I can’t even track the printer as BL arranged the courier. I’m now over two weeks in and feel no closer to resolution, out of pocket and no printer. I wish I had just gone for the replacement parts option. The whole experience has been awful. I’m in the UK. If there was a viable alternative and I wasn’t so heavily invested in BL I’d be looking elsewhere.

I opted for replacement and regretted hugely. Took nearly 2 month from opening a technical ticket to having a replacement shipped. I use this machine for work and fixing 3d printers isn’t exactly a productive usage of my time so thought replacement would be the better option but I was wrong. If I buy another bambu printer I’m gonna buy from an authorized distributor who will promise some active support.

I eventually got a replacement printer. Bambu were ok about it in the end, but not very proactive. However after just 170 hours on the replacement I’ve got layer shift issues and I can feel movement in that back right motor, its got to be the same thing. Awaiting support from Bambulab. Have I just been unlucky to get two faulty units?

Just had this start to happen to me since having the H2S printer since September of 2025. I just sent a ticket over to support, so hopefully they can help me with this.

Thought it might be helpful to add my experience this thread.

My H2C was printing along quite nicely, when I heard a popping sound from the printer. I went to check and the AI spaghetti detection had stopped the printer, there was an obvious print failure so I stopped the print and cleaned up the build plate and tried to do the same print again, the printer failed the XY homing, it continuously banged the Tool head in to the right rear corner over and over until giving an error, I tried multiple time with the same result, I tried shutting the printer off and restarting, Finally I tried a factory reset and then it never could get past the vortek set up.

Having read through some of these threads I ordered a new XY motor, and a MC board. For some reason I decided to try the MC board first, that wasn’t it, so I decided to replace motor B first even though I read a couple of these threads where motor A had failed. That was not the problem, so finally I replaced Motor A, which is the easiest of the 3 to replace by the way.

This is what I found when I removed Motor A , Just under 200 hrs on the printer
