H2S filament cutting failure

I have a H2S, and an AMS2 Pro (not the combo, each was purchased separately), purchase a couple of months ago direct from Bambu. Both machines are running the latest firmware.

When feeding from the AMS, at the end of every print task, the cutter is supposed to cut the filament so it can be retracted. Up until late last week, this was working fine. Now, when the print task is finished, and the tool head moves to the right side so that probe can push the cutter, the probe that actually pushes the cutter lever is misaligned by about 30 degrees, and when the tool head detects this, the printer throws this error:

Can’t cut filament. Check the cutter.
[07FF-8001]

If I press the Retry button on the display and wait for just the right moment, I can manually push the probe into the correct position, and the filament is successfully cut. FWIW, it’s not being misaligned at random angles - it’s always the same misalignment, and it’s notchy, so it’s something built into the mechanism that holds it at this position.

I don’t know if this is an AMS or printer firmware issue, or if it’s a physical defect on the printer itself.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? I submitted a ticket to Bambu, but honestly, based on other reports of the frequent failures on the part of Bambu support staff, I’m not hopeful that they can/will fix the problem.

Having EXACTLY the same issue.

If I press retry and don’t do anything it fails again.

If i just push the probe into the correct position it cuts the filament.

I have seen the video about the tooth jumping issue and realigning the gears. I removed and checked but all the gears are in the correct place to nothing to change.

Any other ideas as to what the problem could be?

You somehow knocked the plunger out of alignment. I’ve done the same. Loosen the screws that hold the bracket with the plunger in place, pull it out, an re-align it. Its a bit fiddley. I dont remember exactly what I did, but I know a had to remove it, disengage the gears, and flip it to the right position.

Go to this link. It tells you to print an alignment too. Make sure you print the one for the H2S. You need a 2mm allen tool to remove the probe assembly. Just followed the instructions, and you’re good to go.
