H2S Firmware V01.01.60.00 Now in Public Beta!

New H2S Firmware Available for Public Beta Testing!

We’re excited to announce that firmware V01.01.60.00 for the H2S is now available through our Public Beta Program.

How to Join the Beta
To access the beta firmware, simply join the Beta Firmware Program via the Bambu Handy app under Me → Beta Firmware Program.

Once enrolled, the update will be pushed to your device gradually.

:arrows_counterclockwise: Want to Switch Back?
You can leave the Beta Program at any time by disabling the option in the app and installing the latest official firmware version.

New Features

  1. Added support for remotely enabling the drying function.
Users can now turn on the drying feature for the AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT from both Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy. Ensure the latest update is installed for both.

  2. Added support for printing while filament is drying when using AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT. (Lower drying temperature during printing)

  3. Added support for starting prints over LAN without requiring a USB storage device.

  4. Added foreign object detection beneath the heatbed.

  5. Added live image display in AI detection error pop-ups.

  6. Added low-power mode for the heatbed.
This mode reduces peak power consumption by extending the heatbed heating time when the printer’s power supply is limited. It’s best used when the printer is connected to a UPS.

  7. Added a Regulation Certification page for certification e-labeling.

  8. Added Purify Air at Print End option.
This option can be set in the slicer or with a button in the UI. It will purify the air for 3 minutes after the print is completed. Requires Bambu Studio version 2.5.0.64 and up.

  9. Added Russian language support.

  10. Added support for pausing prints via the physical button at the top-right of the printer.

  11. Added a “Stopping” state after a stop command is initiated. During this state, the printer blocks user input until the stop process is complete, preventing control command sequence conflicts caused by additional inputs during the stopping procedure.

  12. Added a filtering option with cooling mode for the adaptive air circulation system.
This option can be enabled via the slicer or the printer UI, and it’s mainly used to filter the air when exhausting the air for low-temperature filaments. Requires Bambu Studio version 2.5.0.64 and up.

  13. Added BirdsEye camera initialization for the Cutting Module.

  14. Optimized the filament color display on the filament editing page, adding support for gradient and dual-color filaments.

  15. Added support for Rotary Attachment, Requires Bambu Suite 01.02.01.00 version and up.

  16. New support for laser machining of cylindrical and rotary workpieces by integrating a rotary attachment. Combined non-contact 3D mesh measurement with motion planning algorithms to generate and execute processing paths for both cylinders and rotary bodies. The overall workflow is streamlined, integrating multiple functions into a single click, and achieves a “What You See Is What You Get” experience through camera-based positioning.

  17. Added a new page for real-time rotary attachment angle monitoring. This page allows you to adjust the target object to a horizontal position before engraving, ensuring the captured unwrapped image better aligns with the actual object and improving overall engraving precision.

  18. Added Nozzle Clumping Detection by Probing,Requires Bambu Studio 2.5.2.65 version and up.
The toolhead performs a test touch outside the heatbed at layers 4, 11, and 20 to detect nozzle clumping. Enable this in Others > Advanced. For optimal performance, please run Print Calibration > Nozzle Clumping Detection Calibration. See the Wiki for details: Introduction to Bambu Studio Nozzle Clumping Detection by Probing | Bambu Lab Wiki

  19. Multi-Color Widget for Manual Filament Swapping
We’ve added a dedicated widget to streamline multi-color printing when using external spools. This tool assists with manual filament swaps, ensuring a smoother transition between colors without an AMS.

Feature Optimizations

  1. Optimized the alarm behavior and triggering logic of the automatic fire suppression system.
  2. Improved the accuracy of build plate offset detection.
  3. Optimized collision detection for the purge bin.
  4. Optimized the status display of the automatic fire suppression system.
  5. Improved motor noise-related surface defects at low speeds.
This optimization requires recalibrating motor noise reduction after upgrading to take effect.
Important: If rolling back from this version to version 01.01.02.00 or earlier, motor noise reduction calibration must be performed again to ensure proper operation.
  6. Optimized Nozzle Clumping detection.

Known Issues:

  • Filament PTFE tube detachment detection is temporarily disabled.

Is curved surface engraving finally implemented without using the rotary tool, just like the H2D?

Thank you

Edit: Downloading now. Working on a project so will be able to use it for the next 3-5 days.

Though I don’t have this machine, I’m glad to see some progress!

Hopefully the C series will receive some “love" also soon!

Yes, with the latest version of Bambu Suite (which should come in 1-2 days).

The info about this feature is updated in the Wiki too: Bambu H2 Series Curved Surface Machining Function User Guide | Bambu Lab Wiki

Hopefully this means H2C beta soon.

Thank you. That’s all i wanted to know. Will give feedback as soon as the firmware gets out of the beta stage because i need the printer for production and can’t afford to have a Beta firmware on it.

But thank you once more

Nice, when is the Birds Eye Camera be in stock again?

Hi,
None of my 2 H2S had this update proposed.
I’ve taken a look to the beta option in handy, on both printers and in bambu studio, it is checked since some weeks but the beta update does not appear, i’m stuck on 01,01,02,00.
Is there an additional action i’ve not made to be able to update in beta?
Thanks
Sebastien

As far as I know, beta versions are released gradually.

Yeah, they are doing a slow roll out. Hence the “gradually”, not an uncommon practice in patch management.

Okay, thanks for your feedback. I’ll wait then.

Have been printing while drying to test it out for the past 8 hours. No issue no error and seems to be working.

Filtering after print has worked with no issues all day. Filtering etc.

Birdseye calibrated with no issues first try.

I do not like the slow stop. Preferred the print stop as soon as I push the button. Is there anyway to make this optional?

Overall the new features I’ve used today have been without issue.

just updated to the new firmware today and the printer was already darn quiet now its even more quiet even in standard mode speeds only really hear the motors when on a long travel and even then its a different pitch and much less annoying noise. so now with the closet door shut i can only hear the fan running.

You’re lucky — I still can’t get the beta on my printer. Bambu gave me the beta versions of Studio for PC and Mac, but not for the printers yet.
Your differents feedback about this update smell very good.

I am also using it, going against my workflow and using a beta, and i can confirm that, up to now, everything works as it should.

Also, what bothers me is that users must be aware that if they have more machines and there are more beta versions for them, applying to the Beta for the H2S, it enrolls you automatically in the Beta in all the machines. That sucks because one of my other machines has also enrolled in the beta and i didn’t want it to have that version.

Makerworld, please let users enroll in the beta for a specific machine instead of doing it for every machine they own.

Hi,

I use the BQ Glacier plate, and the detection system constantly says that it is not lying flat on the heating bed. Either ignore it or deactivate it in the settings.

This only happened to me with the beta version.

Could you please open a ticket to report this problem, and include the log?
This will help our team find out what might be the problem and solve it.

Thank you!

@SupportAssistant While you’re here, how come H2C does not get not even beta the nice features implemented on H2D and now as beta on H2S? Even bambu studio is ahead with H2D which can refresh the left nozzle remotely but not on H2C. When can we expect these features to be released on H2C?

Once the beta is available for H2C, I will make sure to announce this in the forum.

Please note that the team is working hard to deliver the updates to all the printers in the shortest time possible.
