New H2S Firmware Available for Public Beta Testing!

We’re excited to announce that firmware V01.02.50.00 for the H2S is now available through our Public Beta Program.

How to Join the Beta
To access the beta firmware, simply join the Beta Firmware Program via the Bambu Handy app under Me → Beta Firmware Program.

Once enrolled, the update will be pushed to your device gradually.

You can leave the Beta Program at any time by disabling the option in the app and installing the latest official firmware version.

New Features

  1. Added support for selecting AMS-detected filament colors when manually editing filament colors, including multicolor filaments.

  1. Added a toggle for Foreign Object Detection.

  1. Added an XYZ Free Move mode that allows the axes to be moved freely while the motors are idle, making maintenance and servicing easier.

4. Added support for the E3D High-Flow Integrated Hotend. Requires Bambu Studio v2.8.3.66 or later.

Feature Optimizations

  1. Improved the firmware update page.
  2. Improved build plate position detection, including detection when no build plate is installed.
  3. Improved the accuracy of spaghetti and clumping detection.
  4. Improved the accuracy of remaining filament estimation. This improvement requires AMS 01.00.07.00 or later, AMS 2 Pro 05.00.22.22 or later, or AMS-HT 05.00.22.19 or later.
  5. Improved the visualization of visual detection results. The location of an anomaly can now be shown directly on the camera image.
  6. Improved the Print Then Cut function by increasing the success rate of cutting offset detection, resulting in better processing quality.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed an issue where, when the heatbed was raised to the same height as the auxiliary part cooling fan, airflow from the fan could change the temperature of the printed part and cause slight deformation. This improvement requires Bambu Studio 2.8.4 or later.

Known Issues:

  1. Filament tube detachment detection is temporarily disabled in this version.
  2. After upgrading to version 01.02.50.00, external spool filament information will be cleared. Please set it up again.

Please also note that if you find specific issues, bugs, or suggestion for improvement, we would appreciate it if you can share it via the Beta Feedback form.

Hey All.

Just had the popup on my printer for the new 01.02.50.00 firmware and through id’s give it a go and found issues.

The bed leveling is sounding broken again like earlier beta firmwares: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BejU4xmk5tQ&t=23s and tool head is acting like it is a not calibrated and off by a mm as when printing a large medel, the head keeps hitting the model when the bed drops, tool head moves to another location and comes back up a bit too far each time.

I did not get a video of that but got a video of the bed leveling sounding broken: - https://youtu.be/da9GJw_L9H0.

Going to have to roll back but happy to try the next beta.

Yep, this is different. Have you tried a factory reset.

One unrelated issue, your stopper shouldn’t move like that. Are you using my model? It looks like you’re one tooth off on the rack or you have removed the back gear during installation and have put it back in the hole for H2D/H2C rather than for H2S. The stopper still seem to work and park OK but it does funny things

I did try a re calibration but did not help. Rolled back to stable firmware and back to normal now.

But I can confirm I am using your model, and it is located right; only started moving like this with the new firmware. It has been moving silently :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: for the last, maybe 8 months and did notice how it was mis-positioned. But with the older firmware, all is aligning AOK now.

Wow this is really weird so it was just the firmware update doing very strange things. Thanks for the feedback

Hello Hallamnet, I installed this beta firmware version two days ago, but I am not experiencing the problem that you are.
However, I did have that problem with the previous beta version.
Regarding the stopper: I noticed during calibration that it occasionally stays in the middle position, though I am using the original stopper.
That said, I haven’t encountered any issues with this stopper while printing.
I installed the beta version and performed a full calibration, but I did not do a factory reset.
As far as I can tell, I haven’t encountered any other problems with this version.
Of course, that doesn’t mean this beta version is perfect.
It would be wise for you to report this via a support ticket so it can be investigated.
In any case, thanks for reporting this here; it lets other users installing the beta version know that they might encounter the same issue.

Hi everyone. I’ve been using the new beta firmware (01.02.50.00) for a couple of days now, and it seems pretty good. With this version—at least in my case—the metallic noise during spiral Z-hop and Z-axis movement (like during bed leveling) hasn’t disappeared completely, but it is quieter than with the previous stable version (01.02.00.00). It’s not quite back to the level of the older 01.01.02.00 firmware, but even with this beta, I was able to eliminate the metallic noise—and I emphasize *in my case*—simply by switching the Z-hop mode from “spiral” to “normal,” just as I had recommended to another forum user a while back. I’m waiting for the new stable version (01.03.00.00) to be released so I can install it ASAP. It appears to be available on the European Bambu site, but my printer hasn’t received the OTA update yet. P.S. Has anyone here on the forum installed it already?

Okay, never mind… Bambu Lab has updated the “H2S firmware release history” webpage, and version 01.02.00.00 now appears as the latest stable firmware—just as it was before… We’ll keep waiting; something will come along.
