H2S Laser vent... Smaller hose possible?

Hello all!

Recently purchased a H2S with the laser upgrade. Having a bit of a logistical issue running the vent hose for the laser because of the size of the duct.

I can’t run it to the right of the printer (no window) and I am having issues running it to the left of the printer because it hits the ‘poop chute’ that I printed to bring the purged filament around to the side of the printer.

My question: Would it be a horrible thing to create a right angle adapter for the back of the printer to accommodate, say, a PVC pipe with a 2 inch diameter? It would be a lot easier to run over to the window like that…

I guess I’m asking, does the hose need to be that large in diameter for any reason?

Thank you,
Bob

I also have a 90° adapter on my H2D and route the hose downwards. This works perfectly because the printer is against a wall.

What you shouldn’t do is reduce the pipe diameter, as this will require the fan to work harder.

Thank you so much for your reply! I had a feeling there was a reason the hose diameter was that large. Ugh. Ok, I’ll try and figure something else out.

Thanks again.

If you have one that fits, you can put a duct fan into the pipe - that’s what I did with the hose too, because I have two drain hoses one behind the other.
