H2S is a single-nozzle printer with a slightly taller build volume (340 mm vs 325 mm on H2D).
H2D offers dual-nozzle capability, allowing multi-material/multi-color printing, and supports laser upgrades (10W or 40W modules).
Other key specs—heating, speed, filtration, sensors—are virtually identical.
Weight and electrical requirements are also comparable.
H2S trades dual-extrusion versatility for a bit more Z-height and slightly lighter weight—but otherwise delivers the same performance foundation as the H2D.
The power requirements are slightly less. Gives us 120v peeps a bit more headroom on our 15A circuits. It’ll put us at about 1400ish watts instead of the h2d’s 1600ish watts.
I have never seen my H2D reach the claimed 1600 W. Does that only occur on 120 V systems? I’m on 240 V and have never observed such high power consumption, even when printing frequently with a 65 °C chamber and a 120 °C bed — conditions where I would expect to see it at least once.
That said, this printer may still suit certain users. With a lighter printhead, it must also be faster than the H2D, which will certainly appeal to all the speed demons out there. It will be interesting to see if they managed to improve TPU printing compared to the H2D.
Yea it’s only on 120v systems. Mine reaches 1550-1600w on every heat up regardless if it’s just the bed heating up or if everything is heating up at the same time.
You’re on 240v so that’s weird you don’t even see that much. You should be seeing more. I’m not super familiar with 240 though. It’s a resistive load though so wattage should increase as voltage does, I’m surprised you’re not seeing more.
