Handy not showing all compatible printers – A1 profile issue on MakerWorld

I’d like to share something I discovered regarding printer compatibility in Bambu Handy.

I uploaded a multi-plate model (a modular filament container) to MakerWorld.
The model fits all standard Bambu build plates and uses:

  • 0.4 mm nozzle

  • Standard profiles

  • No exotic or experimental settings

The print profile was generated in Bambu Studio using an A1.

However, in Bambu Handy, not all compatible printers were visible — even though the model physically fits their build plates.

At first, I assumed it was:

  • A plate size limitation

  • A slicing mode issue (like “Print by object”)

  • Some kind of cloud slicing restriction

But that wasn’t the real cause.


:magnifying_glass_tilted_right: What actually caused the incompatibility

One specific plate inside the multi-plate project had:

  • Supports enabled at object level

  • While global supports were disabled in the main slicing settings

So there was a mismatch between:

  • Global slicing configuration

  • Per-object override inside that plate

This internal inconsistency was enough for Handy not to consider the profile universally compatible.

To fix it, I did the following:

  1. I removed the plate that contained the object-level support override

  2. I uploaded that plate separately as a single-plate profile

  3. In that separate profile, I enabled supports at the global level (instead of per-object)

  4. I ensured the slicing configuration was fully consistent across the entire plate

After doing this, the profile immediately became visible and compatible with all printers in Handy.


:bullseye: Important observation

The issue was not related to plate size or hardware limitations.

The problem was that the profile, generated using A1, contained internal slicing inconsistencies (object-level support override vs global support settings).

Handy’s cloud validation logic appears to be sensitive to this type of configuration mismatch. Even though all other parameters were standard, the mixed setup prevented the profile from being considered universally compatible across printers.

If your MakerWorld profile:

  • Fits all build plates

  • Uses a standard 0.4 mm nozzle

  • Uses standard materials

  • But Handy is not showing all compatible printers

Check carefully for:

  • Object-level support overrides

  • Plate-specific slicing differences

  • Hidden configuration mismatches inside multi-plate projects

In my case, the issue was entirely caused by an internal inconsistency between object-level and global support settings inside one plate.

Once the configuration was made fully consistent, the profile became correctly visible and compatible across printers in Handy.
