Happy Thanksgiving!

Wherever you are in the world, Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve all got things we’re thankful for

Absolutely! You too!

In honour of your special day remembering the start of the native population being decimated, and modern-day political fights with loved ones and very soon-to-be hated ones…

I will be eating Hot Dogs in Ciabattas.

Think of one of the worst of American foods with one of the best Italian breads.

It sums up the whole thing.

Cheers from Blighty.

We (the colloquial American we) compensate for Thanksgiving by having indigenous peoples day the next day. I don’t bother with the history of the day (every culture has subjugated another and some continue to do so today) but celebrate it as a day to gather with friends and family and rekindle grudges the were forgotten in the last year.

Amen to that!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the citizens of USA

I just want to share that my favourite thanksgiving movie is Addams Family Values! May every family be as lovely as Addams were

I’m a Brit, it is hard not to think of a place my forefathers didn’t ruin.

That’s certainly how I’m feeling right now! And still have dessert to go…

In the western world there are very few nations who could claim that they haven’t colonized, or haven’t ripped off resources from others, or that they haven’t ruined other cultures and countries someplace, somewhere, in their history.
The British Empire is a prime example. Next to it there are France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands… even Germany and Sweden had their “share” of colonization. Add to them Russia, China, and as of late the US, and one gets a not so bright world picture. And while all this was mostly happening in the past (sadly, some are continued even today), the consequences of those deeds back then have a everlasting impact even today, and most likely will continue to impact long after we’re “gone”… 6 feet under, pushing daisies.

I wonder if it’s entirely possible to keep a positive thread, positive…

Yes! I’m very positive, you’re very positive, Mcgee’s positive… Let’s focus on positivity and happiness and all the good stuff  I’m thankful for being able to ignore certain negativity when brought unnecessarily  And am thankful for positive threads

I am also positive that we all are going to keep being positive so we can be positive about the date and the positivity around it. So… let’s be positive, the most positively way possible so that the topic remais positive because we all
love and need positive threads

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it  :crossed_fingers:

I’m also highly positive (very)

(for as long I’m not 6 feet under, that is):sunglasses:

And, btw, I’m always positive …

for as long as I’m not the one pushing daisies…

:laughing::grin::wink:

even though I’m French and live in France, I’d like to wish a happy thanksgiving to all those who wish it. Any time you can celebrate with your family is a good time to take.
