I know this topic has been done quite a bit, but I have a question.
Is the black nozzle from Bambu always hardened steel?
When I ordered ny P1S combo it said it would come with both a stainless and hardened . 4mm nozzle.
My spare is silver/grey. The one that came in the machine is most definitely black. Even more obvious side by side. But everywhere I read, people say they do not ship with hardened steel.
So my question is, do they ever paint the stainless nozzle fins black or, if it’s black, is it hardened?
If it is shiny or silver/grey then it is stainless steel. If it is matte black, then it is hardened steel. Basically, nobody polishes hardened steel unless it is katana blade of some sort.
What does the box the spare is in say?
Box should also have Bambu store part number.
There is definitely a difference in color in the heat break fan/cooler. Black & sort of a matte grey. Nozzle itself can get discolored by heat.
I have a bunch of new spares I just looked at and looks to me like stainless has the grey cooling fins and hardened steel are black.
Where does it say that in the bambu store? Unless it has changed, it should come with a stainless steel nozzle installed and an other stainless steel nozzle as spare (no box).
Here’s a pic from another thread that is similar to this one. The OP in that thread also thought he got the hardened version with a P1S. The consensus was that the heatsink on the stainless steel version appears black under some lighting conditions. Hardened is on the left.
Specs at the store read that you get stainless nozzles when you purchase either a P1P or a P1S.
Looking at the store link, it kind of implies the only stainless nozzle available for purchase is the .2 mm. All the others come as hardened only. All-in-one Hotends Kit - P1 Series
