I recently bought a P1S and paid for shipping through FedEx, they did not deliver the printer on my house, but I got the notification that the delivery was completed. When I went to check the “proof of delivery” noticed the house was not looking like mine. So I took the screenshot and started to hunt around the neighborhood… Few hours later (about 2 and some change) I gladly found my printer 3 blocks away, no one was home, so they still had it outside in their porch. I approached to look at the label and was meant to be delivered to me (the street number matched but not the street name). So I picked it up and left a note to the home owner.
Later on I wrote to Support informing about the situation and asking if the Shipping fee could be refunded (I do not believe is an unfair request), they instructed me to contact FedEx… I reached out to FedEx and they just closed my ticket saying “your printer was delivered, reach out to the seller for any issues with this” so… I went back to Bambu Lab and after few weeks they simply said “they will not refund me for the shipping cost”.
However, I do have clear understanding of my rights as a customer, so I clearly know and understand that I am protected by:
Texas Business and Commerce Code § 602.004 – Mistaken Delivery
Uniform Commercial Code (UCC): Under UCC § 2-509
So I have requested them to escalate it internally and document that ticket as my effort to recover the shipping costs (which is my right under the current Texas laws), to prevent an escalation. But I was just wondering if that is a common situation or if anyone else has gone through this situation? The reason why I ask is because if (and mostlikely they will) decide not to proceed with the refund, knowing more instances of this situation will help me in court (and yes, as pity as it sounds, is not about the money, is about doing what is correct, so I am willing to go through the legal route).
Moderators, please note that my post is not breaking the rules, but I have no control over what others comment. Feel free to modify accordingly the reply from PrinterMcgee.
I wonder if theres no available commercial license available, because they arent meant to be resold.
Side note, I agree that the support sucks. Most people do. Just read around the forum. I personally chose to stop using it. Its pointless when the customer knows more about the product than the support workers. Youll always have better luck asking on discord or facebook for help. Its tricky here, because half the people will blame you for everything and most here are new to the hobby anyway
FedEx apparently delivered it to the address on the label. What happened to it then was between the homeowner and Bambu. It’s not yours until it is delivered to you. If you simply reported a failed delivery to Bambu, Bambu would eventually have re-shipped it to the correct address. You have your printer, it was your choice to go find it.
All of the half dozen models from your site that I’ve bothered to check are from cults3d, and they all have only a Private Use license, which does not grant you the right to sell prints from those designs. You even used their photos for your site.
Which makes me doubt that you are much concerned about being correct and legal if you can make some money.
In fact! If you were to truly take the time to check things… well… you would had noticed the cults files do have authorized stores, and guess which one is listed in at least 2 of those creator’s STL files?
Well… I honestly believe that it is asking too much…
Empinator, people are very sensitive here about IP theft. Instead of being snarky, a direct “I have a license from their patreon, but I appriciate you checking. Many of my competitors just steal models.” would have been much better.
Everyone else, you can get licenses on patreon that aren’t visible on cults. If you look at his listings at least the ones I examined clearly indicate the actual creator. If he was just stealing them he wouldn’t have bothered.
I’m not a lawyer, but I’d guess you impaired your chance of recovery by actually collecting the package. Next time, don’t pick it up and just report it missing if you are just trying to teach them a lesson. If I was a bench judge I’d say they shipped it and you got it, next case.
Had the same thing happen to me 2 months ago, except the fedex guy also delivered the other guy’s package to my address. Got lucky that it was still outside.
Their translation software isn’t so great with complex logic and I suspect that it simply auto-suggested you contact fedex from the keywords and that was the box they clicked on. So no, it’s not the best support. But the fact that you actually did contact Fedex is a little surprising to me, what were you expecting? They’d give you $$$? How would that work from an accounting standpoint?
To answer your question directly, yes, many many people have had issues with Bambu support. But relative to other Chinese 3D printer companies it is the best by a long shot, no contest. It’s just relative to western standards that it is pretty crummy.
I agree. He has received his printer (even if that meant additional personal costs, like traveling to and from where his printer was -mistakenly- delivered), therefore the case would be mote. He may sue for the additional costs and hassle, but that would have to be against FedEx, for wrongful delivery., but, in my opinion, there’s very little chance such a case would actually succeed and he’d get a court ruling for compensations and/or damages. But he can definitely try this venue, if he’s got the time, the money…and a good lawyer (which ain’t coming cheap).
When I ordered my ratrig, I received a pony saddle and someone in another state received a box full of expensive electronics. The label had been ripped off my box from a conveyor and actually ended up on the other box somehow. Not exactly sure how the saddle ended up at my house. I received a partial discount for the added wait. Ratrig loves their customers. Through all the emails, I never felt like i was given a generic response. It was a very human interaction. They laughed with me about the pony saddle and apologized. They took a loss, to keep a customer, even though it wasnt their fault at all. But they are also old school 3d nerds from the open source community. Not just another corp trying to maximize profits any way possible. Even if it hurts customers
I am not sure how to quote pieces of a post, I am new in the forums.
Let me start by saying that it is good to be defensive of IP theft, and of course, is great that we worry about the original creators, they do hard work and they deserve to be compensated! However, you cannot defend from a point of ignorance, and accusing people from stealing is not only not cool… it should not be tolerated. When you point you finger so fast and without taking the time to at least know if you are right… dude… that is wrong… I did respond at the beginning asking if he took the time to read the description of the product or if he check my disclaimer, because it is explained there (and he was pointing to Etsy which caused my post to be flagged as advertising by BL), and then others jumping without having the decency of doing their due diligence…
For the question on what I was expecting them to do. It was weird that I had to contact FedEx, but I did it not because I was expecting them to pay for it (since I am not the shipper, I had little to do with them) but I did it because I was instructed, and I do not know their internal processes. And regarding the impairing my chance of recovery… well no, I am not trying to charge for anything extra, however, the product was delivered incorrectly, therefore I can request the shipping to be refunded.
We as customers have rights, and organizations sometimes take advantage of us, what I did not like, was the answer from support saying “oh well… we tried to deliver, and even if it was done wrong, we did ship, so you have to pay for shipping” while in all reality, that specific portion of the payment was for a service from their warehouse to my door.
I would rather Bambu Lab to add the cost of shipping in the printer, and that way I could not complain.
Thank you for letting me know about this happening to you too. Wrong address shipping happens a lot, specially nowadays that our purchasing habits had changed so much.
drakko, no, there is nothing that can be done against FedEx, the seller has responsibility of the shipping. I can take it to small courts and get up-to 200x the shipping costs or up-to $10,000 but would be from BL, then BL could do the same against FedEx who is who was giving them the service.
Small court fees are extremely small and you file a complaint locally, it is a very convenient way to protect your rights as a customer, instead using the regular legal ways where you would have big expenses and case drag for long times. I would never take this to a regular court since would be a waste of time and resources, but if that were the case, I would be looking mainly to a settlement, which is something that BL would end up agreeing because otherwise they would have to end up paying for my legal fees (since it is clearly documented and we have extremely specific laws that protect us).
They did, when you did post, I got this flagged and hidden, I had to go and edit to bring it back. Look at their Patreons, and they normally respond there faster LittleGhost and SneakyPanda are not here in the US, so their times are different. ThatCadDad has a Discord channel (try to hit him on discord, he is more active) where not only I am active providing some feedback and recently making some suggetions… the only one that has not even responded to me even that I am actively paying him for the license is PA1 Maker, but I am considering to drop his products from my shop, since I do not have a customer base for them… I will give him some months to see what I do.
ThatCardDad has his licensing model on Thangs and he might be the fastest one to respond.
But also you could take the time to instead wrongly accusing me to check the description of the models for example:
## 3D model description
“Perfectly balanced… as all things should be.”
I am inevitable. And so is this creation: the Infinity Gauntlet Deckbox. Not a toy, not a mere container… but a throne for your cards, and a weapon of destiny.
If you’re a fan of Magic and the worlds of Fallout, LOTR, Doctor Who, or any other editions, don’t forget to take a look at the rest of the [Deckboxes] and follow me on [instagram]
Don’t forget to take a look at my [Patreon]., where you can find discounts, sales licenses, free models and new ideas before anywhere else!.
If you don’t have a printer and still want one of the models, take a look at our list of [Authorized Stores]
I did remove all the links to avoid being flagged, but if you click on Authorized stores, that could save you the waiting time. Again, not all of them do have a list I am unsure if Little Ghost did end up adding the list but he was working on gathering the names of our stores. so I will assume he did.
and that should over about 85% of my inventory, since he is the fist one I started to support, and most of my products are his… the other 15% are a combination of 3 sellers and 1 model i did following some tutorials that is very easy to make, the tutorial did not explain how to do the product, just the techniques used on Blender).
Same thing here, as in Europe there are very strong and strict consumer protection laws, reinforced by both national authorities and courts (if you have to get to that). There’s also the option to apply to the national and/or the EU Ombudsman , who, when provided with the necessary supporting documents/proofs, will take over the matter and deal directly with the offending company (whether located in the EU or abroad) and makes sure your complaint is adequately handled, and a refund/replacement or compensation are provided. There were cases where the matter was brought before an either national or even EU court (CJEU) where the rulings were very costly for the offending company, both financially and reputationally.
When you first joined you posted the same complaint in two different places, one of them was hidden and marked as spam. The ones in this thread were hidden because you were insulting everyone. Originally I did just ask you what was going on and you said my lawyer should contact your legal team. Some of us are here a lot and we get a little defensive when people come in and start insulting people. We also have a long history of the people who come in to complain being the people who are also causing a lot of the problems on MakerWorld.
I messaged ThatCadDad on Makerworld and on Cults and PA1_Maker (the birdhouses)… but honestly just the fact that you’re still here and posting their info makes me think I was a little hasty to judgement and you’re paying for the licenses.
So for that I apologize. For everyone else, I will surrender my title as 8 bit detective and take a demotion to 4 bit detective.
To answer your original question, Bambu support is a little difficult to deal with. There have been people who had to fight to get a refund/reship that never got their products at all.
