Has something broken off my printer?

I’ve had my X1C for about 4 weeks. After completing a successful print a few days ago I found a small piece of plastic left on the build plate in addition to my print. I’ve probably printed about 30-40 parts before this and about the same since this happened.

I wasn’t printing this colour and my print looked fine anyway. I’ve had a look around the interior of my printer and nothing seems to be broken or missing. It still prints fine.

So my question is, does anyone recognise what this piece of plastic is? It’s injection moulded (not printed). The end with the discolouration is the broken end. Could it be something left over from shipping which has finally shaken loose?

Should I be worried?

It looks like one of the things that holds wiring in place. On the inside of the print head cover there is one that holds the wire going to the fan/light, is it that one?

Yes, I think it could be. TBH I did clip this off a while ago because I found it such a fiddle to feed the wires behind when changing the nozzle, and the piece of plastic pinged inside the machine and I forgot about it when I couldn’t see where it went. I could be that. I retain the wires with a small bit of high temp, low-density foam attached to the removable cover which works really well.

Anyway, hopefully that’s all it was.
