Having Issues with bottom layer/overhang

Looking for advice. I altered an existing pirate cutlass model so I could install a 1 1/2 inch wide aluminum bar as a “blade” for cosplay pirate sword. I print the handle upside down so the largest surface is on the bottom with slim tree supports and i slow down the print for the overhangs. But for some reason, the bottoms (technically the top) keeps coming out really rough and the same spot on the hand guard has this weird gap you can see in the photo. Any advice on what to adjust for the print would be greatly appreciated. I used Sunlu PLA for the black and esun PLA for the blue. as you can see, I get the same results with either PLA filament. Mahalo in advance for any help that is offered!

Weren’t you having a similar problem back in April? What happened with that? You didn’t provide any follow-up on it. Have you ever dried and calibrated your Fialment?

You can calibrate your filament in Bambu Studio. Give it a try and post a photo of it: Both calibrations.

Normally, I’d be more likely to ask about the 3MF file, the settings, etc. But considering your previous thread, especially since you never ever reply to the many threads you create yourself… I don’t think you’ll respond here either.

This looks like an overhang and support-interface problem. Different PLA results make filament less likely. Increase interface layers to three or four. Reduce interface spacing for better underside support. Keep Top Z Distance around 0.2 mm. Slow severe overhangs to roughly 10–20 mm/s. Try 0.12–0.16 mm layer height.

Give it a try with Normal supports instead of Tree.
