Heads up about a sale

Bambu Lab appears to be going to have a pretty good sale come Monday. The banner says Black Friday sale starts as follows:

The promotional price will take effect on Oct 21st, 5:00 AM (PDT).

I’m up for Black Friday sales on Mondays.
Some what looks like some good markdowns. Gonna try and snag another AMS

Were you in a coma? You are normally on top of such things.

We have been debated it and issues surrounding it for a couple of days.

To name a few.

Well the prices aren’t really misleading if you read the red banner at the checkout.
My basket is loaded, I’ll check out Monday. They throw that bright red banner Effective 10/21.
I’ve got an $250 AMS, the required hub, some other odds and ends.
Come Monday, prices don’t drop, I just delete the hub and AMS

I think you misunderstood, I am aware the sake starts on the 21st that is very obvious.

The issue is the amount of discount promoted as available in the sale isn’t nearly as generous as all the advertised prices as they have made up the original prices.

Suggesting a £100 discount on the A1 mini which isn’t even in the sale and the so called sale price is the same as it has been sold at for a few months. Thus the full discount is exactly £0.

The £100 discount on the AMS is actually £70.

They are finally honest in the t&c’s which isn’t nearly as promoted buried two links down. It begs the question why they feel the need to lie.

They can choose whatever prices they like to sell at, I am not questioning the actual true sale price or even complaining about the amount of discount, some are decent. I am complaining about the unnecessary lies.

If I can get an AMS for $250, I’m happy.
Maybe they’ve tweaked the machines currently on the assembly line to better defend against Stratasys, so out with the old, in with the new. Let’s have a sale!!

Perhaps the goofed with the currency? The sale has the AMS as $100 off. Maybe they were thinking dollars when they said “100”.

It seems like a stupid thing to for them to purposely be misleading about because even £70 is a good deal…

I checked very country’s local website stores and all have the same problem (lies).

I bought an AMS this morning.
I said earlier in conversation a few days back that I had an AMS and the multi-AMS Hub in my basket and was just waiting on Monday morning. I had some concern they might sell out so was sitting at my laptop at 7:30 EDT with my basket open. Clock ticked down to O and price of AMS dropped and I bought.

I must be missing something.

I imagine you haven’t read back to the start.

We have been commenting on the lies in the advertising as to how much discount is promised vs how much the sale items were beforehand.

They are suggesting the discounts are far larger than they are.

The discounts are good, there is no need to lie, yet, lie they do.

So you are saying they marked UP the prices and then gave the discount. So their Regular Price before they started the Black Friday Sale was lower than what was shown on the sale price?

I went and looked how much I paid for my P1S Combo and the charge was $973 on July 16th.
The current price pre-discount is $949 and the difference is taxes

No, didn’t you read my post linked above?

One example, they have been selling the AMS in the U.K. for months at £309, it was £309 24 hours ago.

Their marketing says it is currently available for just £239 in the sale and being marketed as £100 off.

Some quick math…

£309 - £239 = £70 NOT £100.

Months ago the AMS was listed at £339 that would have been a £100 discount, but, it hasn’t been that price for months.

You can’t claim you used to sell it at a price you haven’t for months, you can’t make up the previous price.

The A1 mini is being shown with a £100 discount despite being sold at the exact same price as it was before the sale began. The t&c’s even say the A1 mini is t in the sale, so why say it is £100 off?

Lots and lots of lies.

The stupid thing is, the discounts, the real discounts aren’t bad. The A1 mini is already a great price, no need to reduce further.

So, why lie? Why lie about things so obviously untruthful any one can see they are lying.

What goal does it serve except to annoy people and tell those on the fence this company is untrustworthy about the most basic thing.

This is little Johnny telling his school friends his father is a secret agent as he doesn’t want to say he is in prison.

A pointless set of lies.

It isn’t exchange rates or a single country, they have lied about each and every price in each and every territory.

Pointless.

I was planning on getting the P1S for the family and myself for Christmas. Just snagged the P1S combo with the AMS for $750. The P1S by itself is only $550.

Will there be a better sale when It gets closer to black Friday or cyber Monday?

I doubt it, I bought the P1S Combo a few months back for the current 749.00, it’s been that price ever since.

Some things not already in it may be added, and in the last sale the AMS was left out and so many people complained it was dragged in.

The AMS is in this time.

Three new products are being launched in Nov, those ‘may’ get a sale/launch discount. That said, the sale vs non-sale prices have not been truthful.

Others are unlikely. You can see the T&C’s document with all the items and rules detailed.

The only thing on the horizon that MIGHT cause the prices to bump around is they are apparently going to release a new model in early 2025. I have no idea what that new model is, its features or anything. I read a headline article saying the rollout was pushed back to 1st quarter 2025…
Depending on what it brings to the table as far as features, you can assume it will cannibalize some of the market closest to it’s feature set…
If it is above the XIC it will dent X1C sales and so on

I put together an order a month ago, well before the black friday sale was even announced (In fact, you helped me decide my cat warranted a P1S rather than an A1) but decided to wait to see if I would save any money with a black friday sale.

My order was for a P1S Combo, some anti-vib feet, three extra complete hotends, an extra dual sided pei plate, and some liquid glue. Price with the few discounts at the time was $980.04 (US store).

The same order today comes to $875.33 (US store).

I’m glad I waited. The $100 I saved will buy a bunch of filament.

I think that BL is just trying to please their customers but wound up confusing and pissing off many without meaning to. When I first saw the black friday sale notice, before it was possible to actually order at the black friday prices, I realized that it was very unlikely the discount $ amounts they were quoting were to be applied to the prices of printers that were already discounted from their “retail” prices. Like the P1S Combo that was already on sale from the 2 year anniversary sale which never went away. But I also realized that the way they were advertising was just going to mislead everyone. It’s a shame, really.

Bottom line is the sale is significant to me. I don’t feel cheated or deceived, I feel like BL did me a solid. Saved me another 10% off items that were already on sale.

my 2¢

While I have your ear, if I want to print ABS with the P1S do I have to buy an Activated Carbon Air Filter or does the P1S already come with one?

I do remember you, cat and dust were the topics.

I am glad my advice was useful.

The discounts are good, this is the point I keep making, the lying is the unnecessary part.

You can have the one that works at 75%, the other one is deaf.

A quick story, I bought two activated carbon air filter ready to put them into my (at the time, now increased) two P1S printers.

How cool (and daft) did I feel when it wouldn’t fit because, there was o e already in the printer.

Somehow, I had convinced myself the P1S did come with one and it was one of the differences between the P & X series.

Nope.

The P1S comes with the filter, you do not need to buy another one unless you want a spare.
