Has anyone noticed problems after Helio Additive was added to the Bambu Studio.
Now I usually don’t have problems with my prints, what I have problems with is sometimes things like equipment failure or not being able to dry and print at the same time. I have been printing this set parts for many years, I started it printing on a Duplicator 6 I have printed them many times on my P1S and then on my P2S. They are drawn in Autocad so it was not difficult for me to drop out a new STL file. Just in case the file had became corrupt. So here it is, just as it gets close to the top the last part no matter which orientation I have it, it will kicks out one of the parts and starts to spaghetti. So I thought I would test my theory and I designed one that was approximately 6mm longer then the parts I was actually needing. Lo and behold it all the other parts printed fine but just before it finished the one that was 6mm too long it kicked it out. This only started after the update that brought in Helio Additive, I’m not sure if it’s Helio Additive or something else in this beta version. I did not try to activate Helio Additive until after I started having a problem then I noticed there was going to be a charge for that so I stopped that, keep from being charged for it. Are we going have to learn how to work around this thing now?
Personally, without any facts, it looks like a huge AI scam to me. The wiki and the website are full of suspicious-looking AI images. $15 to get only 35 optimizations? After that, you have to pay more?
Almost any CAD program or Blender can verify whether an object is defective. You can also refer to the wiki or the collective knowledge of the forum for information on the settings.
Why should AI be better at adjusting settings than human knowledge in this case? Most of what the site advertises is already available in Orca Slicer or as a free plugin.
Bambu even regularly integrates technologies from them via updates.
Honestly? If you’re having problems, post a few pictures of the object and the settings you’re having trouble with, and you’ll get help here for free.
Search the forum, there’s a thread for Helio where this has been discussed extensively. There was at least one poster asserting that it worked wonders, but I don’t think he/she ever posted any pictures of before/after.
Some of what Helio claims seems a bit like snake oil to me. But I don’t have a reason to want to pay to find out if I’m right or wrong. So for me at least, it’s a don’t care.
Also I read several things on it but none of it actually touched on what I’m having trouble with. I’m not sure whether it is actually this new program or whether it’s something else I’m having trouble with.
You didn’t read their spiel carefully enough. They control temperature and extrusion speed down to a within-the-layer level. To a much finer degree than you can achieve with the slicer. Because their AI analyzes the structure of the print (looking at things like how the density and surface area affect cooling) and makes its changes based on that analysis and its understanding of how temperature and extrusion speed effect the desired characteristics. The upshot of which is that you get prints that are stronger and that look better. Supposedly.

You can even read about it here in the forum. Just to dispel the myth: AI does not understand 3D printing, not even this one. It will not give any advice on infill, orientation, or temperature based on real life experience.
No, that’s incorrect, because in the end it’s all G-code. There is no smaller or finer “unit” or “degree”. For example, there are free developments directly from the 3D community that customize your G-code: Bricklayers
