I’ve always chosen the x1 printer then slice. Then I export the 3mf to makerworld. I got a msg today someone telling me they couldn’t print on thier A1 because there was no choice for it. I’ve always done it this way. What am I doing wrong? Here’s a screenshot.
The option is when you upload the print profile, one of the last options is what printers it’s compatible with. You can still add it to that profile. Just edit the profile and look at the bottom:
If you’re using print-by-object the A1 has wider anti-colision regions and stricter top-distance.
Personally - I slice mostly for A1 Mini to make sure my designs fit on every printer (but then I can’t take advantages of X1/P1 unless I do separate profiles for them)
That makes sense since it is print by object. Thank you very much.
Can you explain what you mean by you can’t take advantage of x1 p1? Thank you.
Thank you but I didn’t get this choice. I think because of anti collision. Since it’s print by object. Thank you again. I’ll keep an eye out for this next time.
You can answer to multiple people by quoting them in single post, just sayin’
Anyway:
If I do a “print by object” on A1 Mini I’m limited by A1 Mini’s limits and limited buildplate size. If I do print by object on X1, I could fit a lot more objects on the plate since the plate is larger and the “safe zone” smaller and object-height limits better.
That’s what I mean by “can’t take advantage”. In order then to take advantage of X1/P1 i’d have to create specific profile for X1/P1 which would be unprintable on A1 Mini.
